Dbannon 3 Posted February 21, 2011 I just started making heat transfers and I noticed when I apply it to a white shirt, everything has a yellow tint to it. What am I doing wrong?
NiteWalker 10 Posted February 21, 2011 Too much heat or too long of a press time maybe. What kind of inks are you suing?
pastortommy 0 Posted February 21, 2011 +1 on to much heat
Dbannon 3 Posted February 22, 2011 I'm using pigment and going by the setting for clearsoft inkjet 375-400 degrees for 8-10 seconds (that's what the paper from Pro World says)
screenprintr 319 Posted February 22, 2011 Try washing one of them. The yellowing should come out in the wash. It's normal for white shirts.
King of Teez 0 Posted March 10, 2011 What I usually do is bring the heat to 350 and the time down to 15 secs... then I slowly lift the transfer while warm. Then I place a teflon sheet on top of the print and apply heat for another 10 secs... this way you will eliminate the yellow...
gprockhill 0 Posted March 22, 2011 Consider also that your print driver might need adjusting. I use a WF1100 with pigment inks and set my color settings to magenta +5, cyan +5, yellow -25. This removed yellowing from my transfers.
