hockeygirl 30 Posted May 20, 2010 Both pigment and dye ink are waterbased ink. Pigment ink is more waterfast on most media making it more water resistent. Dye ink tends to run when it gets wet. Pigment ink is also more resistent to fading and has a longer life cycle. Dye ink is usually more vibrant in color. If you're printing on vinyl, both will require a coated media. T-shirt transfers - pigment is preferred as dye may fade after washing. Mugs - you'll need sublimation - so no on dye or pigment. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
