lionsnwings 1 Posted April 15, 2010 I put this together and it works great, thought I would share as I have learned so much from this forum. Parts cost about $10 and took me less than 30 minutes. Parts: 24" 1/2" threaded rod (found at Home Depot/Lowes near the metal brackets used to hang garage door openers) 4 - 1/2" washers 3 - 1/2" nuts One 1/2" wing nut 2 - 6" by 9" 3/4" wood, hole drilled for rod. 2 wall support clips for wire shelf system (must be flat back, not with wall anchor attached). Or use whatever you have around to keep the dispenser from sliding when you pull the tape. Here is the order of assembly of parts onto the rod, from left to right: Nut, washer, wood, washer, nut, app tape, nut, washer, wood, washer, wing nut. Good luck. Guest Schramm Posted April 15, 2010 I have one that I bought on ebay for $20 which is awesome, but my favorite way is FREE and that is taking the core of a old 24" roll and then starting the tape on the table and roll the old core behind the tape roll allowing the core to lay down and flaten the tape as it goes! I use that all the time for my 40" layouts and it never fails!!!
Guest manwayvan Posted April 15, 2010 Great idea but I gotta go with schramm. I love the rolling method but do find that you need to spend a little more time straightening the roll so that you dont get tunnels or uneven pressure.
Guest kenya Posted April 17, 2010 I love the DIY projects to save some money. Many of us use our own versions of different application dispensers. Here's one that my hubby made me. We own a glass & aluminum shop, so he used some scrap aluminum.
