chrismoore 0 Posted August 10, 2009 Hi all, I just purchased one of these cutters, the first question I have is will this machine work with windows vista? Chris
CyberChuck 4 Posted August 10, 2009 Yes it will. What cutting software are you planning on using? Charlie
chrismoore 0 Posted August 10, 2009 Not sure yet, I'd like to use AI but that program is expensive so I'm looking for less expensive alternitives; mabey corell.
CyberChuck 4 Posted August 10, 2009 Those programs are graphics programs. To cut, you'll need SignBlazer; FlexiSign or similar. I would recommend SignBlazer - the learning curve is reasonable. Also, I'd recommend that you visit inkscape.org and download Inkscape. It is free and as close to invaluable as a program can get. Charlie
chrismoore 0 Posted August 10, 2009 Thanks I'll take a look at that
CyberChuck 4 Posted August 10, 2009 I use Paint Shop Pro to edit or create the actual images. I use Inkscape to convert the images to vectors. I use Sign Blazer to cut the vinyl. This setup has worked flawlessly for me. Charlie
chrismoore 0 Posted August 10, 2009 I have corel paint shop pro photo xl on my pc, is that the same or is it something else?
CyberChuck 4 Posted August 10, 2009 Yes, Corel acquired the PSP line a while back. I keep forgetting. I started using it years ago when it was owned by JASC. Charlie
chrismoore 0 Posted August 10, 2009 Ok great, that should make things easier, I've never used that program it came on the PC. I'll have to boot it up and see if its a trial version or not. Thanks for all your help.
CyberChuck 4 Posted August 10, 2009 If it is trialware, you may be able to do a search and find the older JASC Paint Shop Pro. I'm still using it. Charlie

CRD 9 Posted August 10, 2009 Go to the instructional section and download the new bie manual. It has all you need to get things started and to go from there. Paco
