New machine purchase QUESTION???

I'm gonna buy a machine on Ebay. I know this question has probably been asked a thousand times but what should I get? Main use will be for t-shirts but maybe some basic signage. And what is the advantage of contour cut? Thanks

Contour cutting is when you run your material through a printer first to print your decal and then you run it through your cutter to cut the exact outline of that decal.
