How can I keep my vinyl from unspooling while its cutting?

Recommended Posts

While Im cutting my spool of vinyl likes to unspool itself and start unwinding into the floor. What is an easy way to keep this from happening? Its gettin very frustrating because I have to constantly be rolling the vinyl back onto the spool while its cutting.

If you know how long your cut is going to be, just cut the measured length from the roll.

I have never had that problem, how big are the rolls?  Yard wise that is...

My Graphtec does the same thing if I spool the roller rod through the roll of vinyl, but doesn't if I just set the roll on top.

My GraphTec (man I love saying my GraphTec :) :) ) does it with heatpress vinyl sitting on top but doesn't do it with sign vinyl.

Same with my 'ole USCutter. He's a beast, don't plan on upgrading til he dies. And he shows no signs of that anytime soon.

We have 10 and 50 yard rolls.

I think it would work better if the metal rollers didn't have bearing on the ends and there was a little tension on the roll.

I will try laying it on top of the two rollers.

Thanks
