Team01 0 Posted March 5, 2009 I scan an image to be cut but it states that bitmap will not cut How can I get the image to work. Need help fast on this please email me. The lead Tech at US Cutter said that the cutter only cuts vectorized images not pixelated ( raster ) images what is the difference between vector and raster images. lowone 3 Posted March 5, 2009 The main difference between Raster (bitmaps, gifs, jpgs etc.) and vector is the vectors can be scaled indefinitely without loss of quality. Essentially a raster image has a finite number of pixels, scaling only enlarges the size of each individual pixel. Vector images are kinda like "smart" images. The pixels needed to keep the image clean are automatically added as the image size increases. I agree with johnnyboy, Inkscape is a great free program to use. I hope this helps.
