copam not initializing

Recommended Posts

Got this great machine here but haven't figured it all out...learned how to get some text on the cutter screen, hit the cut icon and get "cannot open the output device.  error initializing cutter"  running XP and a serial cable.  Thanks for the help ok changed to COMM3 and it recognizes something because a box pops up "sending to Cutter" but nothing happens.

If you are using the serial connection you are going to want to change it to Com1. Go into your device manager down to the Ports (Com and LPT) section and double click on com1. Go to the second tab and change your flow control to hardware, click OK. After you do this turn off the machine for a count of 10 and then boot it up. You should be cutting away after this.
