Pre-Buy Question

Recommended Posts

Hello, everyone. We have been cutting vynil templates for our sandblasting business here in Mexico now for the last 10 years on our Roland PNC-960 without any problem whatsoever, until it went up in flames on Monday and we are looking for a new plotter. My general question is: Is the MH 721 really a reliable machine for us after having read each and every post on the forum? I tend to feel that many of the problems mentioned here are probably due to the lack of experience in the use of a plotter and general knowhow of computer use, and total misunderstanding of the english language as in one post, also from Mexico, where the guy sounded really p**sed off with his machine.  Our work volume is varied but with a lot of detail. I have annexed a typical cutting sheet that we might use. Hope someone can cut it on a MH721 and tell me if it came out OK. That would be highly appreciated because we are concerned about the posts that mentioned machine stoppage due to detailed files.

Well, there you have it. Hope we can get some honest feedback on this topic to convince us to buy this machine.

Great forum, you seem to have a very good help system here. Congrats on that

Thanks, Gretings from Morelos, Mexico.

Go with the Copam.  Shipping costs are high to Mexico, so you might as well get the strongest, most reliable machine we offer.

OK, thanks for the advise.  What really is worrying me is that US Cutter doesnt really give any kind of garantee whatsoever on anything as stated on the Copam CP-2500 page:

Warranty:

This product comes with TWO YEAR warranty from date of retail purchase for US buyers only.

International Buyers:

MUST SPEAK ENGLISH! We do not accept Paypal on international orders! You must pay via USD bank check or wire transfer. Warranties are not available for international customers, though we can supply replacement parts. International customers are purchasing the units AS-IS. Here are shipping rates for international customers (USPS rates are based on Airmail parcel post (approx 1-2 weeks):

While we do insure international shipments, we will not be held responsible if we do not receive payment on a claim. Shipments often get held up in customs and can take literally months to finalize. If shipment is sent back to us, we will not refund shipping fees.

It seems to be a "sold as-is and good luck to you if you recieve it" organisation. What actual garantees do we recieve once the money has been transferred. Do we get some kind of electronic reciept, invoice, tracking number maybe? We are convinced about buying a unit but actually recieviing it has now become our main worry. Also, how many days does it take for the unit to arrive once full paymente has been recieved by you?

You will receive a receipt and a Fedex tracking number.  If we send express to Mexico, I think that you should receive it in less than a a week, and probably even quicker.  You have no need to worry.

Thanks for the info. Just one other thing, an other user from mexico on this forum got in touch with me and mentioned that I would have to pay some extra tax on the unit when I recieve it, is this true? I certainly hope not because I am already extremly sort of cash due to the fact that my Roland went down the drain last monday and I havent been able to get the backlog of work out because I dont have a plotter.
