RockerSigns 0 Posted November 22, 2008 Ok so I am going to try a wet app and i am confused about the alcohol? Do you just use isopropyl alcohol? 71% or 90%? Also can you use the wet method to layer a decal while its still on the paper? I tried it and the backing paper stuck to the vinyl as i was taking it off. Thanks! 2GuysSign 4 Posted December 18, 2008 Since this post is old, i will just state what we do at my company. App fluid is no good for applying multicolored vinyls on backing paper. the fluid will just soak in and cause the paper to stick to the vinyl. what we do is we have a 10ft light box that we made out of a ballast and 4 10ft sign lamps. when we layer vinyls we use the light box to see through the backing paper and dry apply. that way you can keep the second color backing paper and give to the customer so they can apply. RockerSigns 0 Posted December 18, 2008 Thanks for the info! I have actually figured it out through reading different post on here I was also making the mistake of using clear app tape and trying it wet. I'm doing 4 layer decals rta now! It's amazing what you can learn on here if you just take the time to read and search! Thanks again, Danny
