  1. No, I didn't fork over the dough for a stand.  Right now it is sitting on my kitchen counter =).  I tested a theory of mine (since it appears that the only time it occurs is seconds into the first cut), that maybe the pinch rollers are too far over to the right of the machine.  After adjusting the rollers a bit to the left, it seemed to fix my problem for the last two cuts.  The right roller was never so far over that it was off the roller grid (or whatever that thing is called), but it was far enough to being right where the blade sits when idle.  Hopefully that did the trick.

  2. Any idea why my cutter creates a diagonal cut right at the start of my contour cut? It only happens sometimes, usually on the first image on the heat transfer paper, then the rest of the subsequent cuts for that image and the rest, cut correctly.

I am using the serial port and have installed the latest version of the software and drivers. I've tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling, adjusting the pinch rollers, cleaning the blade chamber, etc.

    Thank you,
    James

  3. Hello,

Sometimes the SC cuts the contour lines exactly as outlined in VinylMaster Cut, however, there are slight variations more often then not with certain corners being cut misaligned with the graphic.  I've tried adjusting the pressure of my rollers and re-calibrating the machine.  Also, I talked with US Cutter and they really dint have any advice other than what I previously mentioned.

Also, I've cleaned the inside of the blade to ensure no materials have built up within the chamber.

Do you happen to have any ideas for how I can get a consistent cut each time or is that asking for too much?  Paying for a better machine sounds great, but just isn't an option for me right now.

    Thank you,

    Jimm

  4. There is a reset function for the SC to calibrate the laser I had to do it to mine before it would contour cut correctly.

Mine did what you are describing until I reset the laser this is setting up the distance from the laser to the cutter.    I use SCALP BTW it came with my machine.

Here is the YouTube video on how to do it.

I wish I could give you I high five.  I tried that step earlier, but it sent my blade crashing into the side and my calibration was waaaay off.  I tried the steps again and it finally works.  You helped me so much.  Thank you.

  5. Hi,

I have the SC25 and VinylMaster Cut v4.  I'm about to spend another weekend trying to calibrate this machine so I can use the laser pointer to align with my registration marks, and contour cut.  I've tried every variation I can think of, but this thing will just not contour cut as expected.  I'm getting close, but it is always off on one or multiple sides.

I've tried the video which instructs to hit Reset/Right Arrow to recalibrate the origin - then selecting OK - and trying to contour cut.  That doesnt work.

Tried: disable off set, enabling off set; enable laser, align laser to first registration mark, selecting RESET; align laser to first reg mark and selecting ENTER while on origin; align laser to first reg mark and selecting ENTER on CURRENT; tried aligning the pen to first reg mark, selecting reset; aligning pen, selecting ENTER while on ORIGIN; printing ultra reg marks and repeating the same process above; and so on and on and on and ON!!!!

What the heck am I doing wrong??? Two weeks in with just terrible results.  PLEASE PLEASE help me figure this out.  I have a job I'm trying to fulfill now for two weeks and I'm not getting anywhere.

    Thank you,

    Jimm

  6. Hello,

Just wanted to follow up to close out this thread...  I talked to us cutter and they told me that the MH-365 does not support contour cutting because it does not come with a laser.  They said, technically, you can try to align it to the registration marks, but the device was built only to cut directly onto vinyl, not for contour cutting graphics printed by a printer with registration marks.

@VinylMaster or futurecorporation, it might help to mention in your videos that it's close to impossible to do what is suggested in your instructional videos (meaning just disable offset if you dont have a laser).  That way you can save the next bloke a few hours of frustration and time.

Anyway, I sent that thing back and they charged me a restocking fee and made me pay for shipping because technically the device isn't defective - AND I ended up buying the SC 25".  You'd think I would get some type of loyalty credit where they'd pay for the shipping, and waive the restocking fee, but NOPE.

Not a very pleasant experience.  Also, now I'm unable to setup this plotter as my computer doesn't recognize the driver and the instructions to disable driver signing authentication doesnt work.  I'm on to create a new thread now.

  7. Appreciate the feedback and support.  I didnt realize that the starting point represents a boundary of sorts.  That helped me a bit.  Seems like the closest I can get to cutting this design is by setting my boundary point right in the center of the left cross line.  That however sets up the rest of the alignment as off, because automatically the rest of my crosshairs are off.  Seems like it works best if I just set the first and second points, then let the machine auto adjust on its own.  Every time I try to align the rest of the crosses it just gets mis-aligned - meaning the first few cuts seem to be on, but the rest are not.
