    Opinions/Suggestions on logo

I really like Logo2, it is clear cut and look simple yet well designed.

    Cutting nonvinyl material

As long as I went slow it wasn't a problem to get it off of the tape. When applying wet vinyl you often spray the backing material with water, or water and a drop or two of soap and this helps release the tape even better, let it sit for just a moment. Even without wetting, though I had to be careful I was able to peel it off ok. Good luck

    out of alignment

One more suggestion is to double check that you are on the right cutter model ( I am assuming you are using signcut, if not disregard what I say) if you are on the wrong model, it will still cut, but it won't have all of the alignment right.

    Cutting nonvinyl material

Hello Again, So here is what I have found. Cutting tin foil is not a problem, as long as it is put onto backing material. I just used transfertape and squegied it on. I only did a peice about 6 inches by 1 foot and was able to put it onwithout any wrinkles. I dropped the cutting pressure down to 20 and it cut just fine, it was a bit difficult to weed, but by going really really slow I was able to do it. I hope that helps, if you have any more questions or material experiments you would like me to give a go, I am more than willing to see what I can do, but am limited to what I have around. Good luck and go Aggies

    Cutting nonvinyl material

Hello, I don't know about the plastics, or the tin foil, but since I have tinfoil I will give it a try and tell you what I find.

    Cuts not closed

I was having the same problem and then I noticed that my carriage wasn't properly on track. Make sure the little white wheels are riding in the v grooves. If it isn't in track no matter how you adjust the offsets the things just won't close circles. To put it back on track push up on the carriage until the bottom wheels can be pushed in to slip into the groove. It shouldn't take a lot of force, so don't break anything... Good luck

    Why the variance in warranty?

Sorry frog, I wasn't trying to offend your delicate sensibilities. I didn't read the post as carefully as I ought to have. Please forgive me!

    Cuts across the graphic randomly

I have has the same problem with the second and third cuts... It seems if you alwasy reopen your file you are trying to cut multiple times before cutting again, regardless if you move the carriage or not, it will cut fine, as soon as you try recutting the same file from corel it puts the line from ending point to orgin.

    out of alignment

Hi, I am new to the cutter world and my cutter was doing almost the exact same thing today. I realized that somehow the carriage had come off track. There is a top and bottom v groove that the white wheels travel in. Make sure that your is in track, If it isn't just push up and in on the carriage. It shouldn't take a lot of pressure and it will go right back into track. I was about to throw this thing out the door until I realized that, it has been cutting like a champ since then. Hope that helps

A few SignCut & Other Problems

The blade drags to orgin on both xp and osx. It seems to only do it after I have already made a cut. When I go to cut a new sticker if I haven't reset the machine or imported a new image into sign cut it doesn't finisish cutting the weeding border and then cuts to orgin.

A few SignCut & Other Problems

I have a refine mh 1351 cutter and am having a few problems with both software and hardware I am hoping someone can help me with in a step by step sorta way. Running Windows XP and OSx 10.4 using usb. 1. If I move my orgin point by pressing offline/pause and then moving the arrows where I want the carriage and then press the orgin button I don't get a complete weeding box. Instead it does half the box and then cuts across my whole peice of vinyl back to the orgin. How do I move the carriage to a new position to utilize all of my vinyl without having this happen. 2. When the cutter cuts out a letter or inside of a circle the cuts rairly line up. I have my blade offset set to .01 and I am using the 45 deg blade that was provided with the cutter. 3. If I open an eps file from Illustrator it cuts it out multiple times. That about sums it for now. Thanks

Wow, I am replying to my own thread, well I am smarter now. I figured out the alignment problem. Turns out my carriage wasn't on its track. Who knew, it is cutting so much better now... Still haveing the cut to orgin problem.. But only when I try cutting the same file three times in a row.

    Why the variance in warranty?

e-bay auctions often go for less than the cost on the website, it would make sence to offer less of a waranty.

    Tried wet application

I have heard a lot of different mixes and also am wondering if anyone has come up with a good recipe. I am wondering about a small bit of rubbing alcohol in the water to break surface tension on the water. Any suggestions appreciated.

    ready to buy

Just make sure you don't get carried away on the auctions and pay more than you would on the website. Make sure you include the $50 warantty in your price figuring.. Good Luck

    Pre-sale question (from mexico)

I purchased the 51" refine cutter and it came double boxed with styrofoam all around it. I thought that for such a huge package it was packed great. I would suggest the copam series cutters if you can afford them simply because you are a lot less likely to encounter problems. For me money was a big constraint so I bought the refine and have had no problems. I have only used it for a week or so though.

    coral!!!!!

If you don't already have corel draw software you will need to buy it. The corel button is just a lancher for the program if you already have it. One of the great things about having corel though is the export function (looks like a little rocket) that sends you drawing to Signcut. This is a very handy feature. Corel has a 14 day trail version you can download for free to see if it is something you are willing to invest in.

Can I change page orientation in signCut?

Rotate isn't one of the LE functions, You have to have the PE version to be able to rotate, if you rotate your image in Corel or Illustrator prior to opening it is signcut you should be alright

    Signcut scaling

In sign cut go to the settings>settings>units and change it to inches or cm or what ever unti you are measuring with.

    Sutting sheets off the roll

I just run a pair of scissors right down the grooves on the plotter. That makes a perfect cut everytime.
