I get Siser from USCutter - they're local, so I can drive over and get it. -

Here's a trick for you - when you apply the app tape, make it extend 3-4 inches off one end past the backing paper.. Line everything up with the backing paper still in place, stick the excess app tape to your banner, fold back and peel.
-
First thing to try is Path->Simplify.
-
Corel and Inkscape both will export as HPGL, as I suspect Illustrator can - you can (in theory) copy it directly to the COM port your plotter is hooked to. USCutter-branded machines support HGPL internally - most cutters do.

If you're using SB, make sure everything is within the workspace outline - anything outside won't be cut.

Depends on what you're using. In all, select both letters... In Inkscape, use Path->Union. In Corel, choose Arrange->Shaping->Weld. In SB, it's Arrange->Weld->Total Weld.

If you mainly use corel, ROMCat is the way to go.

Start with the text. It should be real easy - just click around the corners of each letter. Next, hit 'Edit'->'Duplicate', then use 'Path'->'Dynamic Offset' to create the first border, then send it to back and duplicate again. On the second duplicate, drag your dynamic offset to the second border thickness, then send it to back.

Looks like Stahl's ScriptJet font. Ballpark Weiner is close enough.

SF Chrome Fenders, compressed and skewed.
