Hi, I have an issue with my cutter, when i cut large complex files the cutter seems to complete the cut almost to the end then cuts big lines all over the vinyl. I'm using MT871 cutter and using artcut, it seems to be when all of the data finished sending on the screen that it starts. i have tried it using paper and pen and i get the same results. I have added a picture of the line i got tonight before i quickly stopped it. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I only have my laptop at the moment looking for a cheap desktop to run the cutter from. Going to make recovery disks for my laptop & then downgrade the OS see how i go from there. Thank you guys

Hi again, I have been trying to cut again today and i have run into the stopping mid cut problem again. I have noticed when it does this the keyspan adapter needs to be unplugged then plugged back in before i can do any further cuts. so today when it stopped i ran the diagnostics on the keyspan tool and got the error "test fail cannot open port". do you think this could be a settings / driver issue or even a windows 8 issue? I switched back to my old adapter and managed to cut fine.. Thanks again Steve

I think i have sorted it now, i uninstalled the windows 8.1 drives and installed vista ones, also noticed the reset button didn't help turning the power switch off for 30seconds has worked. the combination has let me do the problematic design 3 times over. Thank you for all your help

I now have a keyspan adapter, i set everything up tonight to test it, i have successfully cut the large file i couldn't before, i tried it again to see what happened but it just seemed to pause mid cut. i cut a very small file and it also stopped neer the end.. is there any specific settings i need to enter? i tried the small file again with my old adapter and it completed it fine..

I don't have one like that i will order one now.. Many thanks for your help

Sorry i didn't say how it was connected, i have a serial to usb adapter but it doesnt look like anything special just says 'usb serial converter' on it. Also i only just realised tonight that it is a mt 871 not mh871 does this mean anything?

Hi, Is the upgrade chip listed on the main website compatable with the MH871 ? When doing large complex cuts the cutter will start cutting lines through the vinyl until i stop it, is this due to the small memory? Many Thanks

Hi There, I have tried to do 2 detailed cuts recently and the cutter seems to manage half was through them starts cutting massive lines back through the vinyl. Today i noticed it did this when Artcut finished sending all the data. What do you think could be wrong here? Many thanks
