  1. I'm doin my first backlit sign. the customer's wanting to stick to a pretty tight budget so he asked if we could just use flourescent lights from home depot or lowes or smthn. it's a 3 foot by 16 foot sign. my question is, would 4 8ft flourescent lights be enough to aluminate it. im using 1/8in white acrylic for the sign. any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks, taylor

I just purchased a versacamm so i do not need these machines any longer. make cash offer or i would consider a trade on any kind of sign making equip/software other than printers or cutters. i DO NOT check this forum very often at all so the best way to reach me is by phone at 678-925-0465. thanks, taylor

  10. i recently purchassed a roland colorcamm pc600. it cuts great, but when i try to print it starts beeping and flashing the setup and catridge lights. and when i do get it to print, it won't contour cut. it is set to print and contour so i'm not sure what's goin on. i'm only 19 and don't have a ton of money to take and have it fixed so i was gonna make sure it wasn't something simple. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

i would also appreciate a couple of suggestions on good sites to download free vector images. thanks

  11. i'm new to this and i know there are free vector graphics on the web but there are so many sites. i'm doing a project for my uncle's drag car. he wants a full length graphic with and indian head or some type of indian theme. any suggestions on where i could find something like this or another way to go about it? any help would be appreciated. thanks

  12. none at all. i've found a roland 36" printer/cutter with a stand and a new dell laptop. laptop is brand new and the printer/cutter is only a year old. i've known the guy for 5 years and completely trust that what he's tellin me is the truth. he want $5,000 for everything including cutter, laptop, various rolls of vinyl, and a few ink cartridges. i've seen what these machines are new but is this a good price for a used one? thanks

  13. I AM LOOKING FOR A GOOD USED CUTTER PREFERABLY A COPAM. I ALSO NEED THE SOFTWARE, VINYL RACK, COMPUTER, VINYL. I'M JUST GETTING IN TO THIS AND REALLY DON'T WANT TO SPEND A TON OF MONEY ON NEW EQUIPMENT UNTIL I KNOW HOW THINGS ARE GOING TO WORK OUT. I PLAN ON DOING GRAPHICS AND LETTERING FOR RACE CARS SO WHATEVER I WOULD NEED TO DO THAT, I NEED. CALL 678 925 0465 IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING (NO JUNK) AT A REASONABLE PRICE. MAKE SURE AND CALL B/C I'M NOT AT THE COMPUTER ALOT SO I ONLY GET TO CHECK THE FORUM ABOUT ONCE A WEEK. THANKS

  14. thanks to both of you. i've always loved coming up with designs and graphics. i almost die every time i have to go to someone and get vinyl cut for one of my race cars, so i figured it was time to try and turn my passion into a revenue source. i'm not gonna quit my day job just yet, but hopefully i can get it figured out to where i won't need a day job anymore. not tryin to get rich, just wanna provide top quality, original work to the racers in my area at a fair price. do ppl right and there's no telling how big it could get. i'll look into the flexi. what does the corel do that the flexi doesn't? again, thank you for your advice

  15. i'm about to get started in the graphics buisiness. i'm 19 and i've been racing my entire life so that will be my main market. i'm on a $5,000 +- budget so i'm trying to get the most bang for my buck. i've worked up a package within my spending limits that includes a 48" copam series cutter. i plan on using coreldraw software and that's what one of my questions is about. are the "ultimate flames", "vehicle tribal", and "vector drawing programs" found on the us cutter site compatible with the coreldraw software? also, my total $ in cutter equip and start up vinyl is about $3,800 which leaves $1,200 i can spend without having to borrow. i need advice on which computer would be best suited for this kind of work. I would really like to use a laptop with a wireless mouse, so i could take it to the track and show people some samples of their car or take it to someones shop and work with them to get exactly what they want the first time. will a laptop support all the software and saved draftswithout losing performance? i plan on expanding as much as the economy will allow when the time comes so i'll need a little bit of over kill i guess. maybe for screen printing later on. any advice or suggestions on the copam cutter, software, computer, or just cutting in general would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
