  1. Thank you Racinboy30. You are a life saver. Since I am new at this and only do things for family & friends, I don't get enough practice to learn all the ins and outs.

Thanks for yours also Jay2703, Thats the same issue I was having also. lol

  2. I got off of Brands of the world a graphic for my buddys boat. Problem is it needs to be opposite for the other side of the boat. If someone can tell me how it would help (in CS4) or if you can do it for me would be better since I am under a deadline. To explain it more in detail..the lettering is italicized and i need it to lean back for the opposite side. Graphics are easier then lettering. Thanks so much for your help.

  3. Take a 10" piece of scrap vinyl and try and make a cut and see where it stops. Then use a 12" or larger and try cuting something longer. If it stops at the same distance from the end, I would guess a sensor of some type preventing it to continue due to "no material".

  4. Please do not beat me up on this! LOL

My question is... When I buy or DL eps files, alot of them are not "clean". Meaning the lines are all bumpy and wavy and not smooth like others. Almost like drawing a line on paper then looking at it under a microscope. It looks like someone printed these out and faxed them around the world and I got the end result! Is ther a trick or program to use so I can clean them up? Example: Tribal should have nice clean, sharpe lines not like my 5yr daughter traced it.

If this is posted on the forum already Sorry..I couldn't find it.

    Jim

  5. Newbie here.

It seems every Font that contains a Logo or Picture comes out with really rough edges. Logos that have normal round shape to them have a jagered edge  when I  enlarge them. Is this normal? Is there a way to correct it without redrawing it?

    Thanks for your help.

  6. Haha, I carved that same Mickey.   It lasted about 3 days due to the thin lines holding his face up, then it started to sag pretty bad.

Did you use vinyl to cut around, or did you do the print/pounce method?  Vinyl doesn't stick too bad to pumpkin, FWIW.

I heard 2 ways to make carved pumpkins last 2+ weeks.

1: Submerge pumpkin in a tbsp to bleach solution for 8hrs right after carving.

    or

2: apply petroleum jelly on the cut outs to seal them.

Never tried it. Will next year.

  7. I did watch this video....But @ 3:30am. LOL

Now that I watched it again I realized what I was doing wrong! I was Starting from the bottom and layering to the top! lol In the video he goes from the top to the bottom. Maybe leave watching instuctional videos for when I'm a little more awake!

    Thank you again.

  8. OK, I'm am very new to the vinyl cutter scene and I looked at most videos and stuff on line for help. I know about reg marks and align everything. The problem I have is when I lay the second color down the transfer tape picks up the first color so I can't lay the last color down. I even tried cutting the tape down into shapes to make it cover less of the first layer. lol

I am using T Tape clear and Oracal 651 vinyl.

Thanks for all your input. The forums here have been a great help so far!

  9. can someone vectorize this please for signblazer

You get 2 free vectorized graphics at Vector Magic.com. If you need it perfect, or edited to exactly what you want, you can have then ''hand draw it'' for the most part $22.

For $22,they gave me my logo 3 different ways, full color for printing, 4 colors for silk screen printing and 1 color cut out for vinyl cutting!

turn around is a day or 2.

  10. THE FINAL INSPECTION

The Policeman stood and faced his God,

which must always come to pass.

He hoped his shoes were shining

just as brightly as his brass.

    "STEP FORWARD NOW, POLICEMAN.

HOW SHALL I DEAL WITH YOU?

    HAVE YOU ALWAYS TURNED

    THE OTHER CHEEK?

TO MY CHURCH, HAVE YOU BEEN TRUE?"

    The Policeman squared his shoulders

and said "No, Lord, I guess I ain't.

Cause those of us who carry a badge

    can't always be a Saint.

I've had to work most Sundays

and at times my talk was rough.

    And sometimes I've been violent,

Because the streets are awful tough.

But I never took a penny

    that wasn't mine to keep...

Though I've worked a lot of overtime

when the bills got too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help.

Though at times, I shook with fear,

    And sometimes, God forgive me,

    I've wept unmanly tears.

    I know I don't deserve a place

    among the people here.

    They never wanted me around,

    except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,

    It needn't be so grand.

I never expected or had too much,

but if you don't, I'll understand.

There was silence all around the Throne,

where the Saints had often trod,

    As the Policeman waited quietly

for the judgement of his God.

    "STEP FORWARD NOW, POLICEMAN.

    YOU'VE BORNE YOUR

    BURDENS WELL.

    COME WALK A BEAT

    ON HEAVEN'S STREETS.

YOU'VE DONE YOUR TIME IN HELL."

  11. Ok, I understand all the complaints about being Sellers on eBay but, as a buyer, I complained to eBay for years about the feedback.

I did not believe it was fair for buyers.

Here is my main complaint: I win a bid and pay using paypal (say $40 for item and 10 S&H = $50) as soon as the auction is done. Do we agree that MY half of the contract has been filled? Then 2 weeks later your still waiting for your item. After 3 weeks your item arrives and it is either wrong, used (when it said new) etc...... so you make every attempt to contact sell with no answers. Now I go to paypal and open a case and I send the item back (at my expense $10.) and 10 days later I get my money (minus $10 for S&H) $40. So a $40. item just cost me $20 in S&H when it wasn't even my fault! Then to top it off the Buyer puts a NON PAYMENT against me to recoup his eBay fees and gives me negative feed back! Now..is this fair?

  12. Not sure what to do at this point. My first problem is that I can't get my cutter to test cut vinyl. I can't even get the cutter offline! UGH. How do I go about getting my image into SBE and then print out the different colors of vinyl to layer? How do I make the registration marks to line up each layer? Anyone buy vinyl and transfer tape from eBay? Who should I use?  Thanks!!

In SignBlazer You drag the marks to the main cutout. Then if you click on each color on the right side of the screen you will see the layers. Don't worry if some ''look'' bigger than they should, it will cut out fine.

I get most my products from SignWarehouse.com Good prices and fast shipping. If you are going to due muti layer graphics get clear app tape.

  13. Sorry but in here but, I too am new to the whole vinyl cutting scene. And by what you guy say here about the picture of the blade being too far out well, I guess my is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay  to far! LOL

When it is cutting, is it normal that you can see the blade? I mean cutting and turning? Is the blade holder supposed to be flush to the shoulder against the cutter clap?

This could be a good reason I am getting different results on same vinyl?

Use the half of a credit card rule for adjusting the depth of your blade. I actually get out a credit card and hold the tip of the blade up to it to adjust it. Your blade is out so far it is cutting clear through the paper backing an all. once you get the depth correct then you can adjust your pressure to compensate for areas where it gets too deep or doesn't cut through correctly.

    Kevin

Here's an image of my blade.  I guess it's out too far, because it's sure not 1/2 of credit card.  So if it should be 1/2 credit card depth, then it would barely be sticking out.
