  1. I have the same problem from time to time.  I have noticed it more on heat press vinyl.  I thought maybe it was due to static in the heat press vinyl.  It seems to have a lot when it comes off the roll.  Don't know why but it also does it on regular vinyl sometimes.  If you will unplug your USB cable when this happens instead of closing the program down it will respond.  It won't start cutting again but your program will go back to responding.

Where can you get a serial port cord from?  Come to think of it I don't think my laptop has a serial port to plug it in to.

    thanks

  2. I have also seen avertising for 2.99 for one sided.  I haven't sold any yet but was wondering how to compete with those prices.  I have found the boards for around $1 and the stakes around $1 then you still have to add in the vinyl and labor.  How are these people doing them so cheap?

  4. I have a Yudu and have printed at least 200 shirts on it.  It has it's faults but if your just making your own shirts it is a good start up.  I am currently looking to buy something bigger but haven't found it for the price I am willing to pay.  There are some other hobby kits for a couple hundred dollars but then you have to worry about light box to make your screens and drying the shirts on the other hand you can buy a used or new Yudu on ebay and have at least the light box included in the price.  I had a heat press for pressing my airbrushing so i just kept it when I sold all of that stuff.  As far as drying an iron or heat gun may be the cheapest way right now until you can get a heat press.  I use waterbased paints at the time but when (or if) I ever get my other machine I will be changing to plasitsol inks.

Hope this helps make your decision.

  5. I charge by the square inch on my small designs.  I use .10 for black and white, .12 for colored, and higher for the more expensive colors.  As for now I only measure the design after it is cut and not the wasted material.  I do keep most of my scraps that I think is big enough to cut something small or save them for my mom (she has a Cricket and these work well for her).

My question is on a two or more color design for an example I have a design that will be black with orange outline.  Someone said on here to charge .02 cents extra for each additional color.  My black would be .10 cents sq inch and the orange will be .12 cents sq inch.  Should I go with the highest cost and add .02 cents or how would you do this type pricing.  This seems tough to me because on 2 or more color designs you really have a lot of wasted material.

    Thanks for any input

  6. I traced the parts of an image that I needed and traced bitmap in Inscape.  The tracing came out looking good but the edges are all jagged.  How do I get the smooth outline?  I also tried tracing the outline in corel and same results.

Tried to up load the pics but said folder was full or something.

Please direct me with a solution.

    thanks

  7. Does anyone have a Mardi Gras Mask ready to cut.  Need one I can do out of heat press vinyl in purple and green.  I have been asked to do shirts for a High School prom and that's their theme.

    thanks

  8. Thanks you.  Looks great.  what program did you do that so fast in.  I got a good pic in inscape but was only an outline and couldn't get it filled in.

    Thanks again.

  9. I had the same problem from Corel to Signblazer.  I think when I got it over to Signblazer I grouped it and worked fine.  Not real sure because I tried so many different things.

    Hope this helps someone.
