  1. Yep definetly tight LOL, that area is just mine though.  I do have another area I can spread out to as and when I need it just not permanently.  Just to left of that pic is a 40ft x 12ft work bench so I have plenty of room to work in just not to actually store stuff.

I will come up with something over the summer in preperation for next winter.

  2. My comment was in reference to building a room inside the unit, due to the fact I share my unit and we are jammed packed at the moment there is no room to build another room.  The area I have dedicated to cutting/work is around 5ft x 5ft give or take a little, as you can see in the picture below, the vinyl rack is now full with more rolls stored elsewhere.

My work area is far from ideal but is what is affordable as this isn't my main income, and this problem only occurs obviously for a few months a year.  Ideally I need to make a well insulated cupboard that I can just heat enough so its not freezing to store my materials in.

  3. Its a good idea, but not practical at the moment.

Maybe I will have to insulate a big wooden chest and put a hot water bottle in with the vinyl and app tape every night lol.

The cold has only really effected the app tape, all the vinyl still looks fine and is still as sticky as it was when the weather was warmer and cuts/applys fine.  I will have to find some sort of small cupboard that i can insulate well to store this stuff for when we are in the winter months.  Or better still take all the stuff home and have the winter off lol, now that sounds like a plan.

  4. HHMM I appreciate what you are saying but logistacally it would be a night mare to remove it from the unit and take it home for example to keep it in a warmer environment.  I will have to look into a solution maybe like a small cabinet that i could store all my rolls in that is insulated..............any suggestions?

  5. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Refine MH721 had died this morning, I changed the fuse in the plug and the fuse on the plotter itself all to no avail.  I contacted the person I bought it off and was in the processing of waiting for an address to return the plotter to when I came across this thread.  So I thought I would change the power lead, gotta be worth a shot and bobs your uncle it fired up.

Now though the lead that was on it before had a 13 amp fuse in the lead I'm now using only has a 5amp fuse should I change it to a 13 or just keep at 5, my thinking is 5 is better as it will blow sooner rather than later??

  6. Has this happened to anyone else or is just me................well I went to tape some graphics the other day but my paper app tape has lost its stickiness (if thats a word) and has basically turned in to .............well paper lol it wont stick to the vinyl it was fine until we had a bout of really cold weather and it is really cold in the unit where it is stored.

I did how ever find a way around this problem by just heating the roll up with a heat gun before applying and it seems to go sticky again which is fine whilst I apply the graphic to the substrate, i'm just not sure how long it will last once it has been applied to the vinyl and shipped for example.

  7. Just to add you could always start your own forum for free the link for the simple machines forum is at the bottom of the page and its very simple to set up your own forum and can be done for no cost all you get is google ads incorporated.  You could then maybe talk with UScutters and ask if they could have a representive to join your forum and maybe in time they can look at going into your local market as suppliers.

Also bear in mind whilst it may seem like a good idea UScutter selling in your area their prices not be as reasonable as they appear in the US market as they will have a lot more expense in dealing in oher countries such as the shipping, legalities and inport duties so they may not work out any cheaper then your current supplier.

  8. A seperate forum is a good idea but is it really needed.  If USC intend to move into these markets UK/Europe Auz/NZ then yes a forum will definetly help you to promote your goods and services to businesses in these countries.  If USC have no real intention though of selling in these countries it will be a big waste of resources.  Whilst the suppliers maybe different from country to country the working principles and skills are still the same.

Another solution would be to rename the current board "Buy sell and trade" to something along the lines of "regional boards" (you can come up with a better name lol).  Make new boards with child boards like you have done already on the equipment boards.  Something like USA SPECFIC (main board) with buy, sell and trade, and vinyl swap (child boards) repeat for UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand as main boards with buy, sell and trade, and vinyl swap as child boards.  These boards are going to be used primarily for contact with people in your own country rather than techniques, graphics, how to's etc.

The problem I see with seperate forums is the fact you have a wealth of knowledgable people on here that won't want to use 2 or 3 forums so some of this knowledge is going to get lost.

Just my opinion but seems like a good short solution for now and maybe if USC decide to go into worldwide domination markets additional forums could be looked into then.
