    Recutting of weeded objects

    Thanks Kimon!
  2. Had been using an old guillotine (12x15) for years... but I have to say, my new rotary (12x12) is a lot nicer, I do a lot of smaller decals, easier to line up with the rotary. But lots of time, I still rely on my straight edge and exacto knife.

    Vector images?

I don't know how to make the white transparent in Corel (since I don't even have Corel), but I can do it in Photoshop if you need help with that... you'll need to either post or email me (hockeygirl_ps@yahoo.com) the true quality file.

    Vector images?

You can try matching the shirt color and inserting the color in to the "whites" in the image and printing...

    Two Questions on MH-871

Heh, yeah, I discovered that today... don't know how it got moved there... but wrinkled about 3ft of vinyl... right down the middle...

    SOFT blank shirts?

For ladies fitted T's... I prefer the Bella 1001. It's a pre-shrunk, 100% ring-spun cotton, 5.8oz T-shirt. They do cost a little more than Gildan, but totally worth it... much softer and more true to "fitted" size... (yes, I order those for myself)...

    T-shirt business

Not sure if this applies to all States, but keep in mind that any products you purchased using your resellers number but don't end up selling, you're still liable for an inventory sales tax at the end of the year. At least that's how it works in CA. I guess I should start pulling everything together to file my sales tax with the BOE...

    T-shirt business

I have an account setup with Golden State Activewear (gsactivewear.com). I find their shirts runs about $0.60 less per shirt than Jiffyshirts (it addes up if you're making an order of 100+ shirts). I also use them because they're fairly local to me, I place my order before 4pm, and I get it UPS to my door stop by noon the next day.

    final outer cut

If you're talking about the weeding box, signcut pro doesn't finish the final side of the box if you're only cutting 1 of. It'll do it correctly if you're cutting multiple.
  10. Hi, I was wondering if anyone used this printer? With all the discount I get from HP, I can get it shipped with stand for around $2000 for a 24". My local supplier stocks waterbased vinyl and banners, so that would not be an issue... Just wanted to know if anyone has experience with this printer, pros and cons. Thanks!

    whats up with oracal

Who sells this? I was under the impression that the only matte Oracal sold was 631 and white/black 951 is also available in matte. Yeah, I checked my roll of brilliant blue, it's definitely glossy... maybe it's older vinyl? Not sure...

    whats up with oracal

Oracal 651 is high gloss. So if it's matte, it's not 651. I'd recommend calling Oracal or your supplier.

    Quality t shirts needed

Agreed with the 6.1oz shirts. Also the 50/50 blends tend to feel a lot heavier than the 100% cotton at the same weight. I order my shirts from Golden State Activewear (gsactivewear.com)

    Graphtec Robo Pro / stickers?

There's a whole thread on printing with your desktop printer: http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,7141.0.html Short answer is yes, you'll need printable vinyl (depending on the ink you use, you'll need to get waterbased or solvent based vinyl).

    Where to get grommets

The ones from harbor freight aren't great quality... I picked up a pack of 24 from Home Depot last week for $2.

    Inkjet printing on Orajet vinyl?

Orajet is a solvent printable vinyl. I'm not familiar with your particular Epson printer, but it may use waterbased ink, if so, it will not work with the Orajet. You'll have to print on waterbased or aqueous printable vinyl.
  17. Pretty much the same thing, I use TransferRite paper products... http://www.beacongraphics.com/supplies/transferrite.html
  18. Here ya go: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Graphics/Scotchprint/Prod-Info/RequestSamples/ A rep from 3M will call you (they're usually really good about calling within 2-3 business days after the request), just let them know you like to evaluate their product and see how well that applies for your business.
  19. Or if you're don't think you'll be using a lot of reflective in the future, get a free sample roll from 3M...

What kind of cutter should I get

All cutters will cut all the vectors that are specified in your file. It's kind of hard to recommend what cutter you should get, it depends on your budge and the amount of use you expect out of it. A lot of us started out with the Refine cutters, which is a value cutter. But if you have the funds and plan on using it a lot or depend on it to make a living, it may be a better option to look at the prof cutters like Graphtec or Roland.

    MH-721 with upgraded memory

Can I purchase a new cutter with upgraded memory installed before shipping?
  23. Start with the live trace, Outline it, ungroup it, and Exclude Overlapping. Sent you an email with more detailed instructions. Good Luck

    MH-721 with upgraded memory

I need more memory because when I'm cutting larger complicated designs, my cutter either freezes half way through or it'll miss chunks of cuts in the middle. I'm not entirely positive, but I'm almost certain my computer is sending way more info than the memory buffer in the cutter can handle. I'm tired of splitting designs up. I figure it's not an expensive addition compared to the frustration of not getting a complete cut. I'll probably order the memory and put it in myself then... since I'm too cheap to pay for labor for something that'll prob take me a few minutes to do. I figure if I can build a PC from scratch in less than 20 min, this can't be too difficult.
  25. A&P, If you used Illustrator to live trace it, it traces both the black and the white so you can double lines for everything. Not sure if this option is in CS2, but in CS3, you can exclude overlapping objects. Not entirely sure, but I think it's under Windows - Align - Pathfinder. I got CS4 last week, haven't had a chance to install and try it yet, but it prob still traces the overlapping objects...
