Hello, I had this problem before but someone said I should try a different vinyl but now I seem to be having the problem again. I am printing on Oracal Orajet series 3165 vinyl using a Roland printer. I am printing a sticker that is black all the way to the edge and then I contour cut it to cut it out in a rectangle. I just noticed that the edges are curling now on some I printed about a week ago. They didn't curl at first, but now they are. Any suggestions on what to do? Do you guys use transfer tape on stickers? I was wondering if applying the transfer tape would help keep the edges from curling until it's applied to whatever it's going to stick to. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks for the response. We called the place today that we buy the vinyl from and they said to try turning up the heat a little more and keep a box fan blowing on it. They thought it was probably a drying issue. But I will just use transfer tape on it too for now. Thanks!

Hello, I am using Flexi and suddenly everything I type is typing backwards. Please tell me how to fix this. I am sure it's something simple, but I'm still new to Flexi and can't find where to fix this. Thanks in advance!

Well, I guess it didn't quite work. That option is putting the letters in the right order but each letter is backwards. Before it was typing in the opposite direction of how it should type. Hope that makes sense. For example if I typed "hello" it would type "olleh" now it's typing hello but the letters are facing backwards. How do I fix this? I don't know what I did to make it do this, but even if I completely close and re-open Flexi, it's still doing this. Help please! Thanks

Hi, I am using Flexisign Pro 8.1 with my Roland SC500 and sometimes when printing, I get blotchy spots. Anyone know how to correct this problem? The vinyl I am using right now is called Orajet Series 3165 3.75 mil. I set the media type to Hi Gloss White Vinyl, and the print mode to Photo. And my Roland uses the Eco Sol Max ink. Thanks!

The heater is set to 50. I am just using a generic profile I think. Am I supposed to set it to a profile for Oracle? If so, how do I do that? I've been printing some other stuff today with no blotches so maybe it was just something on the vinyl. Do you know if this type of vinyl needs to be cleaned with rubbing alcohol first or anything? I didn't think I had to on this type. Thanks for your help!

Here is a picture. It's the blotch on the "n". The line going across it is from the roller so I know why that's there, but I don't know what caused the blotch. This happens sometimes but not always. Thanks for any suggestions!

Hello, we just bought a Roland SC500 Printer/Cutter machine. We also have Flexistarter 8.5 that we are trying to use with it. We are having trouble getting the Roland to cut. It will print what we send to it, but it's not cutting it out. If I send it to my other vinyl cutter which is a Seiki cutter, it will cut it out. But I need to be able to set up Flexistarter so I can send it to my Roland printer/cutter also. Does anyone know how I can do this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It is a Roland printer, but we bought it from someone on ebay, not from Roland or any store.

Hello, I am having trouble with my vinyl curling along the edges after I print and then contour cut it. After an hour or so, it starts to curl. Any idea why this would happen? I was wondering if it's too cheap of vinyl or something. I am using some vinyl that came with my Roland so I don't know what kind it is. Thanks

There are just lines and squares on the back, no names of any kind. I unrolled it all the way to the cardboard roll and there isn't any writing any where.

We bought the printer used and the person just gave us a roll of vinyl but didn't say what kind it is.

I don't know what kind of vinyl it is. The ink is Eco-Sol Max. My heater is set to 50 and this is the only type of vinyl I have tried so far. We just got the machine not too long ago so I don't have any other vinyl yet. I curled even when I printed something with no heat at all and someone told me not to set the heater any higher than 50.

Hi, using Flexisign 8.1 with a Roland SC500, I am trying to print out a sticker and cut out certain parts of it and also sometimes just cut out around the outside edge of it. How do I do this? Also, is there somewhere that has some good tutorials for using Flexi? We are new to this and trying to figure this all out. Thanks!

Thanks for the link, but I don't have Versaworks, mine came with Color Choice II. Do you know if I can send stuff directly to the Roland through Flexi, or do I need to use the Color Choice Program? In Color Choice it has the ICC profiles, but I'm not sure if there is a way to just use Flexi to eliminate using another program? Thanks!

I am trying to print something with Flexi and when I send it to my Roland Printer, an error message comes up saying "There are no ICC profiles selected for this device. Proceed without color correction." Then when I print it, the color is off and it looks bad. What do I do to fix this error? Thanks!

Hello, someone told me that Flexisign Pro 8.0 and above had really good photo editing included in it that makes it even better than something like Adop Photo or things like that. Anyone know if this is true? We recently got Flexisign Pro 8.1 but I didn't notice anything like that on there yet so I am wondering how to find out if it had this capability. Thanks for your help!

Hi, please disregard the previous email. I guess the Seiki should be on a com port. Anyway the computer shows it on com3 so I set the production manager to com3 and tried sending something and it says it cannot open port and nothing is sent. Any ideas on what to do? Thanks!

I do see that one on the list so I selected it but nothing happened. But then I noticed something strange happened. Something seems to have switched the ports around that I selected for both my cutters. I had the Roland set to com1 and the Seiki to LPT1 because it's connected through a usb and that's what my computer showed in device manager. But now in the production manager it shows the Roland on LPT1 and the Seiki on COM1. I tried to redo the Roland to COM1 but it's not bringing com1 up on the list anymore. So I went back into device manager and it now shows the Seiki on COM 3 and the Roland on LPT1. So I don't get what's going on. Are the LPT ports for the usb plugs and the Com ports for the serial cable? I tried setting the Seiki to com3 on the production manager because that's what the computer shows but still nothing happens. Any ideas on what I should do? Thanks so much!

Hi, we just got a Roland Soljet SC500 and we are wondering what software to use with it. We need a rip software, something we can use to turn things we download and stuff into vectors so we can cut it out. Our Roland prints and cuts so we need something that we can use to print and cut. We want to be able to cut out letters of words and things like that. I think Flexi Sign Pro would work but we are wondering if there is a cheaper software that would work good but cost a lot less. We are wondering if FlexiStarter would work alone or would we have to use it with another program? Thanks!
