  1. Hi, If I download a photo off the internet that someone put on there or one someone emailed me with a low quality/ low resolution, is it possible to edit the photo so it will print nice? And what kind of photo editing software is the best to get? Is it Photoshop? I haven't had a lot of luck with printing photos so far. Even ones that I take myself seem to not print out too good sometimes even if they are taken at 8 mega pixels so if anyone has some advice on how to get photos to print good and what software to get, I would really appreciate it!! Thanks
  2. I went down to my local vinyl store yesterday to get some vinyl I needed and they were all out of the color I needed and the only other place that I know of in this area was all out too! So I decided I would try ordering some online from US Cutter. Well, I placed my order yesterday afternoon for a few colors in 10 yard sizes and I figured it would be here in a few days. I opened my front door this morning, and I was totally shocked to see that my vinyl was already here! This is the fastest shipping I've ever seen. I did pay a couple dollars extra for express shipping, but I added up the price and including the extra shipping, it still cost a little less than if I had bought the same amount of vinyl here locally. Amazing!! I just wanted to share that.
  3. Hello, I have some vinyl that was given to me and it says BGS on the back and it is gloss black 24". I was wondering what this kind is good for? Can I use it for stuff like doing a tribal on a boat or car? Thanks!

Can someone tell me what this vinyl is for?

Thanks you guys! Guess I will just get some more Oracal instead of using this. No wonder they gave it to me for free

    Stick Family

My Vinyl Designer has some cute stick figures. Here's the link. You might have to copy and paste it if you can't click on it. I really like their designs. http://www.myvinyldesigner.com/cart/category/148_158/STICKFIGUREFAMILIES.html
  6. Hi, I am cutting a two color item for the first time. It is a monogram with a large letter in one color and then a name and date going across it in another color. When I click on cut, it comes up to the cut page only showing the large letter to be cut. So I cut that out, now I am wondering how do I get the second part to show up so I can cut that out? I had it put the registration marks on the first one, so how do I cut the second color out with registration marks so it will line up correctly for applying it over the first part? Also, I was wondering what you guys think about this: I am mailing this to a customer, should I send it as two seperate parts for them to apply one piece and then apply the other piece themselves, or should I stick the two colors together and then put the transfer tape over the top and only send it as one piece? Thanks for the help!! I will try to attach a picture so you can see what I mean.

Need help with a two color cut of a monogram

Do you mean you put the stars on yourself instead of having flexi put them on and cut them out? I figured out that if I go under options and choose send all colors and then tell it to pause between colors, flexi aligns the squares up correctly. For some reason though it cuts the squares into 4 triangles. I don't know why it would do that. So you would stick the two colors together before sending it to the customer? Is it harder for the customer to peel the backing off and then the transfer tape off when there are two colors layered without it trying to pull the two colors apart? Thanks

Need help with a two color cut of a monogram

OK, I figured out how to get the second color to show up, the two colors show up over to the right side of the cut/plot screen so I clicked on the other color and now it shows up. But I'm not sure how to get it to put the correct marks on there so I can line them up properly. It is just putting marks at all four corners of each item right now, but I don't think that will help line them up together when they are applied to the wall. What should I do to put the right kind of marks on there so they can easily be lined up? Thanks
  12. Hello, I am using my Roland SC500 and now it's putting dots on the stuff I print, making it look like it has the measles . Any ideas what causes this to happen? Thanks!
  13. Hi, I have a Seiki cutter and it's been working fine, but today I cut out a few things and some parts cut fine and other parts of the same thing did not cut deep enough. I can see a faint line so I know it tried to cut, but just didn't go deep enough but other areas of the same project did cut deep enough. Any suggestions? How often should the blade be changed? I am wondering if the blade is dull or something. I've had the machine for about 5 months now and haven't installed a new blade since I got it. Thanks for any help anyone can give!
  14. thanks I will give it a try.
  15. OK I found it now, the knife offset is set to .020in. Is this a good setting? Thanks
  16. I did that and mine only has 2 pictures. The first one shows setup name and it lists my Seiki cutter and the second picture brings up communication and it shows the port and the settings like bits per second, data bits, parity, stop bits, flow control, hardwires. Nothing showing up about the knife or offset. Any where else I should look? Thanks
  17. I am using Flexi Sign Pro 8.1

Doing a cleaning on the printer

    The ink brand is Roland
  19. Hi, we have a Roland SC500 and we want to do a cleaining on it. (The more detailed cleaning of it, where you open the cover, etc.) But I was wondering if I can use rubbing alcohol to clean or do I really need to buy the special stuff for it? They quoted us $80 for one bottle down at the vinyl store. Thanks!

Doing a cleaning on the printer

We did download the service manual. We use Eco Sol ink. Where do you get the sponges for it?
  21. It seems to be cutting better right now. I increased the force a little bit. How do you adjust your offset? It seems to cut most areas good, but every now and then, it seems to not cut a small section here or there all the way down. I think I am going to try a new blade. I am using the blades that came with my Seiki cutter. Are the blades that come with cutters usually junk ones or are they generally pretty good? Thanks!

Doing a cleaning on the printer

We ended up buying the solvent at the vinyl store but any suggestions in applying it would be welcome because we have never cleaned one before. Also, we are having a hard time finding the right sponge that is suppose to clean the hook. The vinyl store gave us a T shaped one and said that is the right one, but I really don't think it is because I don't see anywhere that it would go and the instructions show a small rectangle shaped one with a hole through it to snap onto a tab but the vinyl store said there aren't any sponges like that so do you know where I can get the right sponges from? Also, do I need to replace the sponges that sit under the print heads? Thanks so much for your help!
  23. Hi, I am having a problem with my vinyl getting bumps or high spots in it. It's not laying down completely flat - some spots bump up. This is causing the printing to screw up because when the print head goes back and forth over the bump, it gets a big smudge. I am using a Roland SC500 and the vinyl is Oracal Orajet 3165. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get it to stay flat? Thanks!!
  24. Hi, thanks for responding, we are still having this issue. We are using a Roland Soljet SC500 Printer/Cutter. It has an aftermarket heater installed on it and we set that to 50. I am printing on Oracal Series 3165 vinyl. We try to make sure the vinyl is straight and flat, but when it advances forward and back, it starts to get bumps or high spots in the vinyl. Any suggestions would really be appreciated because it pretty much ruins the vinyl whenever it gets a high spot because it smudges the printing on that area. Thanks a lot!
