You can also get the text to follow arcs in either direction (up or down) by selecting the text; then selecting the Manipulate menu; then select Distortion. Play around with it a bit and you can bend the text in just about any way. Charlie

    creation drivers

But, John, YOU did step up to help them (within approx. 5 hours of the original post). I own the same cutter. On the setup screen after you select Cutter, you need to select the "Creation PCut CTE630 HPGL" as your cutter and verify that you have the correct port listed in the output devise box. Additionally, you stated that "it keeps shutting down" - is the program shutting down or is the cutter itself shutting down? If it is the machine itself, you will need to power it down and move the cutter carriage away from the side of the machine. The PCut has red buttons on either side that will restart the machine any time the carriage hits them. Hope This Helps, Charlie

    Hello to all

  17. First off, if you file as a Sole Proprietor, you do not need to have a Tax ID number. You can use your Social Security Number. Your equipment that you already own should be able to have its' depreciation written off (cjheck with your local tax guru). As far as writing off your mileage - simply having your logo/name on the door isn't enough to justify mileage. You have to prove that the mileage was accrued in the process of conducting your sign business (ie: meeting a client; installing a sign; etc). As stated above, you really should consult an accountant or tax professional for better, more complete information. With all of that said, I would caution you against operating as a Sole Proprietor. It will cost a bit more, but you are far better off starting out as an LLC (Limited Liability Company). As a sole proprietor, you are personally liable for everything done in your business. If you sign a contract with a client and you default - they can sue you and take away ALL of your PERSONAL assets (cars; boats; computers; tv's; etc.) Operating as an LLC requires more record keeping (and a separate tax ID number), but, IMO, the benefits make it worthwhile. You will need to vectorize the ball before it will show up for cutting. The ai file you imported is an Adobe Illustrator file. If you need help, post the ai file here and I'm sure it'll be vectorized before you know it. Charlie

Mike, I was referring to the same "questionable" sites that you are. They typically have the greatest selection of software / music / movies (yes, I have close to 100 GB of these types of files). You just have to be careful to check for malicious content before you open them. Charlie
  22. I also used a bastardized version of a word in my business name - "signwerkz". But, I do a lot for younger folks (16 - 25), so they're used to it. Charlie

I have downloaded files utilizing torrents dozens of times over the last few years. It is a very quick way to download. Just be sure to have an antivirus program running during the download. I also copy the downloaded file to a flash drive and open it there and scan it with my antivirus prior to installing on my computer. I know it sounds like overkill, but I've had virii on my computer in the past, so I'm very cautious. Charlie

    Logo Help Please

I know this may sound overly simple, but why not just cut the black parts out on a white vinyl? Just because the picture shows black, doesn't mean you have to cut black vinyl. Now, if you're going to print it on vinyl, that's a different issue altogether. Charlie
