  1. We understand the difficulty that long lead times create.  We are working hard to make improvements in this area.

Orders to the east coast generally take 4-5 business days to arrive (one full week) when shipped from our Washington State warehouse.

We have recently implemented policies that ensure that almost all orders are now shipped the day they are placed if your order gets in by 1:00 Pacific Time.  Frequently, we are able to ship out same day for orders placed up to about 2:30 Pacific Time.  This is an improvement over our previous performance.

It is our intent to make substantial improvements in the near future that will drastically improve transit times.

  2. You should be eligible for any promos that Graphtec offers.

Difference between the ce5000 and fc7000?

I don't know all the differences, but the fc7000 has gauranteed tracking of 50 ft. more speed and force, a longer warranty and a nice recieving basket.  I'm sure there are other differences, but right now it looks like if you buy a ce5000 or fc8000 between now and April 30th you recieve additional 1yr warranty and possible $100.00 or $200.00 gift certificate to use from GraphTec's online accessory store.  http://www.graphtecamerica.com/2009-EndUser-Promo.html

Not 100% sure on this though.

  3. Is the carriage touching the red button on the side of the machine?  If it is, turn it off, move the carriage away from the button and turn it on again....

    Hello again,

I got the software to load on my other computer that uses windows xp. The machine started ok and then froze up with "waiting" on the screen for 15 minutes. I had to turn the machine off. I turned it back on again, and now all I get are black boxes on the screen. I just bought this thing a few weeks ago. I didn't get to try it out until today because I was called away overseas on an assignment. I just got back and tried the cutter. The 15 day return is over. I think I made a bad choice with buying from uscutter and this chinese crap. In the long run, I was the dumb ass. I spent weeks reading everyones posts here on the forums praising these cutters, and uscutter before I decided to buy. Buyer beware I guess. Anyone want a pcut that doesn't work? Cheap price.

  4. 1. We don't shill bid. PERIOD!  Please do not make accusations unless you know the facts.  We sell a lot of machines on eBay.  Some people buy our machines for resale.  Some people think that they can get a low price and bid a low price on every auction.  eBay has no tolerance for shill bidding, and I am frankly insulted every time someone makes the insinuation.

    2. We don't rely on the forum for most of our support. The best way to get support is by leaving a support request at http://support.uscutter.com.  Our technicians are on the phone most of each day, but they often times have time to deal with support requests during downtime while troubleshooting on the phone.  We instruct our technicians to use the forum minimally and focus their attention on the support site.  That is the reason that you see more answers from our members than technicians on these forums.

    3. The Laserpoint manual has been poor.  We have an outstanding new version that we will be releasing to the public shortly.  I am sorry that we were not able to preform better sooner in this respect.

  5. The low price on blades is meant to encourage people to buy other items.  The intent of our store is so sell lots of supplies.  If you are a loyal customer, you are probably buying vinyl and other supplies from USCutter.com on a regular basis.  You should simply add blades to the orders for your other supplies rather than buying them separately.

  6. The forum is being transferred to a new server in order to accommodate growth.  There will be some downtime tonight during the upgrade.

*** We should be back up now.  The old server is still online, so that server will be kept in maintenance mode and it may take some time before all DNS caches are updated and pointing to this server. ***

  7. My guess is that it has been sitting on the shelf for some time.  Vinyl has a finite shelf life, and some distributors will let it sit for years.  I am guessing that you did not buy it from us because we cycle through our product very fast (all our vinyl is fresh), but if you did, we will take care of it.

I use Oracal 651 almost exclusively.  And just like any other dude slicing the vinyl, I run through a lot of white.  Newest roll wasn't weeding good, so I figured it had to be the blade since it had been cutting for about the last 4 months.

Nope, got a bad roll of vinyl.  Everything else is cutting just fine.  Slightly irritating since most of my business is white, so I'm going to have some long days weeding...................

  8. That is very good advise.  We are now bundling RTape with the starter kit.

I am sorry about the packing problem you experienced.  We use paper because we feel that it is environmentally better and easier to work with than packing foam.  Unfortunately, the paper can compress in the course of the shipment.  After you comment, I did an inspection of our outgoing shipments and determined that we could stuff more paper in there to offer better protection, so we will implement this advise going forward.

I recently purchased a Copam 2500 and am very happy with it.  There were a couple of things that I think USCutter could do to REALLY make future transactions like mine a "win-win".

    1. UPGRADE the STARTER KIT

I ordered the "Sign supply starter kit" and the "BGS vinyl sampler" package.  Once I got my cutter not to destroy vinyl I was very disappointed in the combo of the clear application tape and BGS vinyl.  It was nearly IMPOSSIBLE for the tape to pull the vinyl.  It nearly made me forget my dreams of starting a vinyl business.  I realize that the cheap vinyl "is what it is"  but I gotta tell ya, the combo of cheap vinyl WITH cheap tape is a real downer for the newbie. So, my suggestion... put a high tack or at least a better quality app tape with the "Sign supply starter kit". Even if you have to charge a bit more- you'll be miles ahead on newbie satisfaction.

    2. Better Packaging or shipments

I ordered a roll of Oracal along with better application tape and a set of new cutting blades.  What I got was a large box and in it was a box or Oracal-in good shape, a big roll of clear applicatin tape- no problem with it but it was packed with a single sheet of crumpled up butcher paper which allowed the heavy 15" roll of application tape to move about the length of the box (24 inches) freely. Well, I found what I think was a little plastic case for the cutting blades as it was just beat to a pulp and I found 2 of the three cutters.  The third must have gotten out of the box as the tape was only partially covering the top of the box.  I didn't ask about my missing blade because I was too upset with USCUtter at the time but have since cooled off some. Bottom line- do some reasonable packing to avoid broken products and encourage re-orders.

If you sold single cutting blades, I'd ask for another but I don't feel right taking a full box when I was short only 1.

    That's my 5cents.

  9. Our systems requires us to use "shipping rules" unless we want to build shipping tables for each product that is sold on eBay.  Unfortunately, we are tied to the limitations of our software, and we are only able to offer the prices that we do on eBay because most of the process is extremely automated.  We have to build shipping rules based off of the most usual circumstances, and in the case of vinyl cutters we have to use Fedex ground.  Therefore our calculator must use the "Fedex ground" shipping table.  eBay is not our preferred marketplace, and it is certainly not the recommended marketplace for transactions to Alaska.

For us to refund shipments on a one-off basis would add to the complexity of our business and increase our costs.  Our goal is to always offer the best prices, and if we are dealing with a lot of one-off issues, we cannot accomplish this goal.  There is some expectation that the buyer will seek out the best price option, and in the case of transactions outside of the US 48 states, it is the buyer's responsibility to determine whether the the gross costs is reasonable.  Please note that the shipping calculator is available for you to check the shipping rate before you bid on or buy an item (in this case, buying through USCutter.com would have been the lowest cost option.

I am sorry that you were dissatisfied with the transaction, and I appreciate the feedback.  I will take it into account the next time we modify shipping policies.

  10. I am really concerned about this issue, and I wish that I could just send out free software.  Unfortunately, we have to pay for every copy of software we sell, and our machines are sold at very little margin, and we already paid for every copy of SignBlazer that went out with a serial code (current sales indicate that the software is Trial mode....).  If anybody on this thread wants FlexiStarter, we can sell the version that only works with PCUT / Laserpoints for $40, and the dongle version of FlexiStarter is available for $90.  This is only available to those customers that have purchased machines from us.  If you would like to take advantage, please PM kenimes and he will tell you how to get in on this deal.

  11. I was not aware that people were having consistent and reproducible problems with SignBlazer.  I would like to use this thread see if we can identify why the problems are occurring.

Can each person please reply and state:

    1. What OS are you using?

    2. Are you having problems with SignBlazer?  If so, what problems?

    3. What version of SignBlazer are you using (look under Help -> About)

    4. Are you in trial mode, or is your software registered?

    5. When did you first install the software?  When have you last updated?

    6. If you are having problems, have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the newest version from http://download.uscutter.com?

  12. I was not aware that many people were having problems with SignBlazer.  I know I have been pretty silent on this issue, and I am sorry for that.  Here is the situation:

ColorChromeFirst was declared insolvent shortly after Jerry's death.  The company itself was probably just about breaking even - I think that Jerry was contributing the difference to keep it going.  With our help, ColorChrome was actually doing better recently than in past years and it had a positive outlook overall.

In being declared insolvent, an administrator took over the company and was in charge of selling off or liquidating the assets.  The primary asset of value was the software code and customers, so this portion of the company was made available for sale to the highest bidder.

Bruce was indeed a minority shareholder in the company, but he was not interested in running the company, so in being liquidated, he lost his share.  Despite this fact, Bruce tried to assist us with ongoing support.

The administrator found another company in Australia who was interested in purchasing the company and they intended to complete the sale.  Somewhere along the way, one of the old employees of ColorChrome decided that he had rights to the code.  He sued the administrator and Bruce in an attempt to prevent the sale from going through.  (This is my vague understanding).

Since then, the administrator has told me that they thought that the sale would still go through.  They have told me on multiple occasions that they expected the sale would be completed within a short period of time.  I emailed them a week ago and they said that the sale should be completed in about two weeks.  We'll see....

The ongoing delays are helping nobody, and I expect that disagreements will be resolved sometime in the future.  Unfortunately, I have no control over this situation.

  13. Which version of Signblazer are you trying to install?  Here is the newest:

    http://download.uscutter.com/SBEforUSCutterSetup.exe

Hey Ken - I'm using Inkscape 0.46 which was installed about 2 days ago

The error I get when trying to fire up SBE is an error finding a file called WIDGE32.DLL and it suggests a reinstall of the application.  This has been done, and I get the same error.

Yea, I've been looking at SignCut cause I have Inkscape, Corel AND Illustrator at my fingertips   Only thing that's making me stall is the cost - I'm not into getting subscriptions so it's dongle or nothing.  Cost is a little high, but I just gotta get a big job once and it'll pay for it  :D

  14. I appreciate BannerJohn's loyalty and pro-company position.  I don't think that a buy/sell section would be good for business, but I have to recognize the fact that this community has become far more than just a tech support forum and the section would be helpful, so I am going to allow the section on a trial basis.  The rules are as follows:

    NO COMMERCIAL POSTS

    NO COMPETITORS PRODUCTS

Must be limited to USCutter and related items

    Ken, please add the section....

  15. I am working on making our forum more SEO friendly by installing a sitemap modification.  Unfortunately, the mod only works with the default SMF theme.  Let me know if you guys want me to change it back....

  16. We definitely will not be refunding purchases or crediting on this.  Take advantage of this deal at your own risk!

If people were to not get the discount, will USCutter be refunding purchases or crediting the difference?

Edit: I think I will wait to see if anyone else is successful with this.  (Note: edited word in original post for clarity.)

This post is technically against the rules, but I think that it will be valuable to many of our forum members, so I will leave it up until the offer expires.  I am not 100% sure that it works, but it looks like a lot of people are having success.
