  1. I don't have a picture of what I need but when I submitted the other two to my customer he said that he wanted it to be just a mean looking t-rex head.  All I can picture in my mind is a t-rex with its mouth open like when its roaring in the movies .  But as long as its a head and looking mean would be fine.

  2. I decided that it would be better for me to just have some basic colors (18 of them)instead of all of the inbetween colors so that I dont have to carry so much overhead (I will probably add the specialties in later like chrome, gold, metalics etc).  So I am currently making my own from scratch.  I would be willing to share after it is all finished if anyone wants it, just let me know.

  3. I am still in development for my online store and was wondering if anyone had a color swatch image that I could use.  The vinyl I will be using is oracal 651 so I would need those colors.  I am talking about the swaches that you see as an ex when someone buys a decal off of ebay or an online store they usually will display all of the availiable colors as a single image.  I wont be copying the exact image but just need to get the exact colors (if that statement makes any sense).  I will be making my own swatch in the shape of clouds.  So if anyone has an image of all of the oracal 651 colors that would be great.  I tried looking up oracals website but it seems to be down.

  4. The order that I need complete is a 3ft wide by about 2ft high decal with 3 colors. I think that maybee I will try and only use the clear on the registration marks and see if the paper will stick to it and the rest of the decal for layering.  I am thinking that even if I am successful with the clear that it will bubble and get unacceptable since I have to ship the decal which will take a couple of days, then the buyer will be applying it themselves.  Im not exactly sure what I should do.  Do you think that it would be acceptable to ship the decal in the seperate colors and tell the buyer that they have to layer it onto the vehicle themselves?  Now that I think about it that probably wont give me a very good professional image.  Any other tips, I saw somewhere that they used normal clear tape for the registration marks and normal transfer tape for the rest, maybee I will try that.  Im pulling my hair out on this one.  Anyone have any other tips for layering large decals?

  5. Can anyone identify this application tape for me.  ( I got it from uscutter when I picked up my machine from there warehouse).  No offence to uscutter but I have had a horrible experience with using this transfer tape.  I have been stubborn and havent posted about it now.  but I dont know how to describe it other than I wouldnt buy another roll of it in the future.  It has an R all over the inside of the roll.  It is very staticy, and clingy.  It is difficult to unroll and when I do it will constantly cling to itself and myself making transfering a pain.  The only times that I can successfully use it is if it is for a small graphic about 6 inches wide or smaller and even then it is very hard to use without causing all kinds of bubbles.  I have a roll of Perfectear transfer tape which is made out of some kind of paper and all I can say is it is night and day with the application tape.  The Perfectear has never given me any of the problems that this clear one does (which is made from some sort of plastic).  Can anyone recommend any clear rolls that that compares to the ease of use as my perfectear transfer tape without the bubbling or difficulty?  Or are all of the clear transfer tapes this difficult.  I would use the perfectear for all of my decals but for the times that I need to layer, it just wont do.  I need the visibilit and am hesitent to buy another clear roll untill I find out which ones are acceptable.  If it helps I usually buy my supplies from fellers so if anyone has any experience with the clear rolls in there catalog any input would and experience would be great.

  6. I see a lot of free vector sites but does anyone know if there are any that is ok to sell as decals?  Most of these all state in some way or another that they are not for commercial use.  I am looking for content for my website to sell decals.

  7. I have a font that I think is installed because I can see it in adobe illustrator but I cannot find it in the signblazer list.  Anyone have any suggestions?  The font name is Tekton Pro.  I really need to be able to get into sign blazer quickly because I cant cut the decal without it and I already have a customer that had already paid for the order.  Heeeellp please.

  8. Thanks everyone for the input.  I had convinced him to go with a company that specialises in logos and explained to him the same kind of things that were mentioned here.  I decided that even though I would probably be able to come up with something he would like, I would rather save the headache and time that goes into making a decision for a logo (especially since I never even met the guy or seen the company before, I would have no idea what his taste is and dont think that I would get one conversing just through email).  Id rather be cutting

  9. Here is a current request that I have recieved from a potential customer copy and pasted:

"I don't have a logo yet, the name of the electrical company is Sir Sparks and I am thinking of an illuminated light bulb wearing a top hat, monocle, and fancy waxed moustache.

The emphases will be on super clean and polite service calls we will wear carpet protector slip over shoe covers, white gloves for handling customer items, we will treat the customer as if we were their butler and give them the "Royal Treatment"  all things I'd like somehow in the graphics but if you can think of something better than the light bulb let me know.

I have included a pic. of my buddies service van to give you ideas; lots of colour and detail. In the bottom corner you'll see a logo I may not reproduce but would like similar; I would suggest a 1st prize medal type logo with the following by it's side. "

Attached is the picture he had sent me with the email.

If anyone can help I would gladly appreciate it.

  10. I was just wondering if anyone knows if there are any forums online where you can post up a request for a custom logo.  I have been getting requests from people that do not have one yet lately.  The reason I ask is I am not very handy in the creativity department and if I could find a place that does this kind of service for free or extremely cheap would be a very great resource.  A lot of the times they would want to see a logo before it is paid for, so I do not want to be paying for a service if I can help it that would not lead to a sale for the vinyl graphic.  If anyone has any ideas, I would like to hear them.

  11. I recieved an order and was sent a pdf file that I am having problems with.  Since I dont have the font that was used, my editing programs (illustrator, corel) tries to subsitute the text (part where it says "of"). all I need is this to be a cutable image, I dont have to edit the text or anything. Is there anyway I can convert this into a vector so that I can cut it as is? or is going and buying the font my only option.  Does anyone know of any converting programs? If anyone can help here is the file.

  12. It was mentioned that when you sign up for office live that the domain that you register with them is yours once your all signed up, so Ive got a couple of questions.  How would you go about using the domain name for the email for example myname@mybusiness.com or is that something completely seperately paid for.  One thought is to maybee register the domain name with office live but then turn around and use a different hosting system ( I am thinking about building one of my computers into a webserver).  Any opinions?
