  1. Update,,,

Got the CD today,, I already sent PM to Ken,, but wanted everyone to know how good the customer service is,, It really doesn't matter if there is a screw up once and a while,,, what does matter is how it is handled. This one was done right.

    THANKS,

    Tom

  2. Great, thanks for the info Bruce. I will try it tonight. Does SB cut registartion marks to line up the colors?

I can answer this one,,, if you are using elements,, you need to create some sort of registration marks,, SB Pro has registration marks.

    BUT

In Pro,, Do you have to draw RMs on each layer? Or, does it do it automatically?

  3. Did you also receive a SignBlazer 06 CD? You will need to install from this. The dongle doesn't have SignBlazer installed on it, SignBlazer Pro just checks to make sure the dongle is present so that it can run.

No CD,,, just the dongle and password,,, WHEW I kind of feel better. Shouldn't the CD and dongle ship together?

    Tom

  4. OK,,,

I must be real stupid,,,, I tried to install the upgrade,,, put the dongle in,, it says ready to use,,, but nothing installs,, I go to "my computer",,, and can't see the dongle. This came with no instructions,,, only the password. What am I doing wrong?

  5. When you type the graphic,,, make the G and the E seperate, then you can node edit them,, ie instead of typing GATHER HERE,, type  G hit the select button, then select the text button again, type ATHER HER, hit the select again, select the text again, type the E. now the first G and the last E are seperate entities, so they can be node edited separate from the other letters.

Just went and tried it,, it will work.

  6. Thanks Bruce,,

I thought I would be unhappy with SB as it is a relatively "cheap" program,, but the support is top notch,, and software is pretty good. I too wish you would give Elements registration marks though.

  7. OK,

Lets say I am doing a cut job,,, some of the graphics are 8" x 20",,, and some are 4" x 10".

If I am GUESSING correctly,,, I should do the graphic 8 x 20,, then shrink it to the 4 x 10 right?

    BUT

Lets say I need to go larger than the 8  x 20,,, if I use the 8 x 20 and resize the graphic so it extends outside of the sign dimensions, will it cut correctly?

Does the  "Long Lengths Of Text extending outside of Cut Box"  apply in this instance?

    Thanks,

    Tom

  8. Is the software that comes with the cutter all I need.  I will be doing mostly text and numbers to get started.  Is the software that comes with it going to be enough?

    Thanks

Yep,,, just got mine last week,,,, I don't have vinyl yet,,, still waiting for delivery,, so I put the pen in and tried it out. Sign Blazer is pretty easy to use,, has a couple of goofy things, but all and all seems pretty good.

  9. it seems FED-EX uses subcontractors also . the subcontractor didnt seem to concerned with the well being of my 2 packages when he delivered them . it sounds like FED-EX called you & let you know what happened . Asking for another cutter sent out before the first one is returned is asking alot . Normal business practice won't allow that in everything i have been involved with . It is tough waiting !!! That i know . hope things work out swiftly

    regards , Rodger

Oh no they delivered it,, and left it that way.  I called them. I half wanted to open and inspect it,, as I can reach in on of the tears and touch the machine. FEDEX said do not open it. I am hoping that with the tracking # USC will turn one around.

    Oh well,

    Tom

  10. Well it will be a week or two before I can use SBE,, looks like they (FEDEX) used my plotter as a step stool. Per FEDEX not even going to open box, they are returning it, so figure a week back, then a week to get another. Hopefully USC will ship another out right away, and not make me wait for them to get this one. ;)

  11. I have a question,

My PCUT should be here in a few days,, I fly RC helis and planes. We cover the planes with a material that is a plastic film, (Monocote is one brand) It is a few mils thick and probably easier to cut than vinyl. If I feed something under it as a backing,, do you think it can be cut on the machine. I have a couple of planes that I am trying to keep light,, so vinyl would be a little heavy. Bigger planes can handle vinyl,, no problem.

    Thanks,

    Tom

  12. when you go to cut,the different colours that are in the graphic should be shown in a bar to the upper left.Just click on each colour and it will only cut that colour.

Really??!! So I don't have to go into the software and specify?? COOL!! So all I would have to do is setup registration marks for each color?

OK,, lets say for giggles,, I had a graphic of a red and white bulls eye (concentric circles) would the software cut (lets say a red disc ) then cut the whites, leading to a multi-laye graphicr? OR is it going to cut each concentric (red and white) separately, leaving a flat graphic?

I really appreciate the help,, a friend used to date a women who did vinyl signs,, that got me interested,, but they broke up, so I can't use them for help.

    Thanks,

    Tom

  13. Sorry to be a pain in the butt,,,, but,, if I have a graphic, that has multiple color layers,, after I import it, how do I separate the different colors so I can cut the color layers?

Sorry about being a pain,, but I am a noob.

    Thanks,

    Tom
