I'm back after a few days off. I think Jerry has been answering problems when required.

Does this happen on the Refine or the PCut or both?
-
What you need to do is: 1) create your outline. 2) Change the color of your outline 3) Create the shadow 4) select the outline and delete it. This will leave you with just the shadow and the original. Of course with the Pro version you can do this with one step, plus many more types of shadows.

Sign Blazers Initialization file
Bruce SignBlazer Support replied to LaurieChrst's topic in SignBlazer
It depends on which cutter you are driving. In SignBlazer these codes are hard coded into the software. -
Usually it is a case of finding where you downloaded or saved the files. You need to take a note of that directory and then go to the same directory in SignBlazer.

We are looking at improving the manual. The first step will be adding bookmarks so you can navigate to each section more easily.
-
The live update that can be run from within SignBlazer will be in the next release, probably in a week or two.

There was a bug that was causing SignBlazer to lock up if the communication to the cutter failed. This has been fixed in the following update of SignBlazer Elements for USCutter. http://www.signblazer.net/signblazer/updates/uscutter/setup_101007.exe

SignBlazer can't import CDR files. Your best option is to load the file into CorelDraw and then export to CMX or copy and paste to SignBlazer.
-
SignBlazer can import CMX files. Just go to the menu "File" - "Import" and then select cmx for the file type. You should also be able to cut and paste from CorelDraw to SignBlazer.
-
You wont be able to paste an image from "my pictures". You will need to import the file. Copying should work from Microsoft word, you should be able to copy what you want and paste it into SignBlazer. Of course the success you have will depend on what you are trying to copy. To copy an image from the internet you right click on the image and select "copy" or "copy image" and then paste into SignBlazer.
-
What program are you trying to copy from, it might not be producing a format that SignBlazer accepts. SignBlazer copy and paste does work with a large number and variety of programs.
-
This is on the list of things to be fixed soon. Hopefully it wont be too long.

SignBlazer will import fully compliant Level Two PostScript files. This is equivalent to Illustrator 8. Some AI files that I have looked at are actually PDF files. However if you have problems with files then take advantage of out free service. Email the problem EPS or AI files to import@blazertech.net. They will be returned within one working day in SignBlazer format. Or you will have what is wrong with the files.

trouble when acquiring scan in signblazer
Bruce SignBlazer Support replied to signguyjohn's topic in SignBlazer
Try setting the scanning mode in your scanning software to 24bits. -
That file "signblazer test file.eps" seems to import for me. I used the "Full Postscript Interpreter" option after going "File" - "Import" signblazer test file.zip signblazer test file.zip

How are you setting the com port, from the cutter setup dialog?

To upload a file to here, just click on the "Additional Options..." to the bottom left of where you type your message and it will then give you a spot to attach files.

having problems importing in signblazer
Bruce SignBlazer Support replied to odokie's topic in SignBlazer
I can load this one into CorelDraw so I can see what is missing. I'm not sure how long it will take to fix this. -
Can you upload a sample eps/ai file that you are having problems with so that I can check to see where the problem is.

Getting an error-Can not open output device. Error initializing cutter
Bruce SignBlazer Support replied to SimplyImagine's topic in SignBlazer
This error means that SignBlazer can't open a connection to the cutter. Things to check: 1) Unplug and then re-plug the usb cable, make sure it is secure at each end. 2) Check what COM port SignBlazer is set to and make sure that this matches the COM port for the cutter. 3) Double check all the setting here: http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?topic=1602.0 -
having problems importing in signblazer

Try pressing "Control-F" to show in wire frame. It may all be there just not visible because everything is shown in black and the black rectangle obscures everything else. -

I would suggest you try AutoCad R14 and if there is an option, don't chose a binary format.
