To my knowledge, Vinylmaster Cut is the cutting software. I to have Inkscape, but when I finish designing my image, I save the image as a png file, then open Vinylmaster Cut, then vectorize the image, then cut the image out. The bottom of the image is black, but it disappears when I press trace. I just don't understand what and why this is happening.

With All the trouble with lining registration marks and the debate between tapes, is it possible to just spray a little soap and water to line up different layers of vinyl? Would that work alright with Oracal 651?

Thank you Wildgoose. That was my thought as well, but I'm getting frustrated trying to put together several layers and having gaps between them. I just thought that if I were to use the wet method, I could move pieces a little bit to get a tighter fit.

Is there anyway to adjust where Vinylmaster Cut puts the registration marks? When I am making several layers and most of the layers are a lot smaller than the first original layer, the program puts the registration marks on the same location on all of the layers. This is a very large waste of vinyl when I have to cut multiple layers for one vinyl sticker. And if there is no way to adjust the registration marks, has anyone found a different way so I don't keep wasting vinyl? Thanks in advance!

What you see in the screen shot, is after I have pressed trace. Prior to pressing trace, I continue to add colors until the image is showing the colors I have choose when I originally designed the image. For some reason, this program doesn't always recognize the colors correctly. I am not understanding is why when I press trace, does most of my image disappear? But when I click and hold on the image with my mouse, it shows all of my image until I let go of the mouse. If I go ahead and accept the traced image, what I see (just like in the screen shot) is what I get, not what I want. Hope this explains a little bit more.

I always start a new document, then import an image. Is that not correct?

I normally design my items with a separate program, then import them into Vinylmaster in order to cut them. If I save them from my external program in either evs or suggestions, when I go to import them from the Vinylmaster program, it doesn't see or recognize them. Trying to figure out why.

tHey all, Just wanted to introduce myself. I just ordered and received my new US CUTTER. My goal is to learn to design graphics and sell them online. First time user. I was watching a tutorial and the guy had double the icons on the left side than I do. Can someone tell me how to get those? Very frustrated.

So I need to upgrade to Pro? What I find strange is that if USCUTTER puts out training videos for people who have bought their software, then wouldn't you think they would use the SAME software?

While watching the tutorial videos, I noticed that the guy was using the same exact version of VinylMaster Cut V4.0 that I was using {PERFECT}. But on the video, he has the tools on the left side of his showing a lot more tools than I have. I have tried to find out how to get all of those tools, but I am lost. Can anyone tell me how? I would appreciate it a lot.

I just purchased the MH871 cutter and was wondering if it is possible to scan a design, then convert it somehow, so I can cut it out on vinyl?
