I've just added a pic of the cable in question...
-
I'm using the cable that came with the cutter. I don't know what it's called. It's a really big plug on the machine end and has a bunch of pins inside. The other end that plugs into my computer is a regular USB end.
-
I have a thumb drive or an external hard drive. I can use either. What am I testing for?
-
I don't have $130 to spend on software and if I don't get this sorted out soon I'm going to be out of a job

I just updated signblazer a few days ago. that's when it stopped working. Prior to that, I was using it for 2 years on the same windows 7 computer. Nothing changed on the computer other than installing the newer version of signblazer I tried calling uscutter. sat on hold forever, then someone got on the line who transferred me and I waited on hold again until they hung up on me. when I tried to call back the phone system made me put in a extension number, but because I have no extension number, it kept hanging up on me. AWESOME SERVICE.

yes, I tried every single one of the options listed in there in each of the ports on the laptop. none work.
-
the cutter shows up in the list of printers, but there are NO ports at all listed in the device manager, none for anything, not just this cutter.
-
what do you do if there's no ports listed in your device manager?
-
I have read the manual, there's nothing in it about ports. I also called Summa and they were no help at all. He told me to download the latest driver, which I did, but the when I look at the device in the device manager, it still shows it's being controlled by the 2006 driver.
-
there are no ports in my device manager. I have no idea how to find them. And the summacut did not come with a manual, it's a hand-me-down. But it is working. I've powered it up and the test cut works just fine from the device.

when i look at the options in SB for available cutters, there is a D60 and a D60 desktop option. Neither one did anything.
-
Yes, that would be great except that when I installed the newer version of SB on the old laptop a few days ago, it will no longer recognize the cutter.
-
I already have SB installed....is there something I'm missing here?
-
So does this mean that I just have to select that as my option in the set up, or do I have to download something specific?

I tried the Roland PNC 1000 too. I believe the old one was a Refine something, but I'm not 100%. I never needed to check because it just worked. I switched laptops because the old one weighs about 20lbs, has been dropped about a dozen times and the backspace, H and G keys no longer work I even tried to reinstall SB on that old laptop to just run it on there again until I could sort out the issues, but no luck. It will not work with that laptop either
