    Please help...

I've taken a job to make 2 banners only to discover that I don't have the font set required to do the company logo. The font is ITC Garamond Handtooled. I can purchase it for around $60, but I don't have enough in the job to justify the expense. I'd like to ask anyone who has that font set to please vectorize the following for me: PENNUM INDUSTRIES One easy way to do this would be to make a rectangle, type the wording on top of it, select them both, punch through, then delete the text and export as an EPS file. That is how I have been able to do it in SBE. I'd greatly appreciate any help with this. Z

    Bubbles ... still?

Thanks to everyone who posted. I also called Fellers and spoke to one of their tech people. It seems that I may be experiencing a combination of problems, some of which were mentioned above. I'll be doing another set for another van this weekend. I will pay close attention to see what I may be doing wrong. I didn't have this problem on the first two vans, just on the third one. I had only a few minor bubbles on the first two, but this last one was really aggravating. The owner isn't concerned about the bubbles, but I am. Anyway, I appreciate everyone who responded and I will post back here when I complete the next one. Thanks again. Z

    Bubbles ... still?

Been having trouble with bubbles on a particular job that I am working on and hopefully someone here can tell me what you do (or have done) to alleviate the problem of getting bubbles even when doing a wet application. I am doing several vans for a local company and I don't know why I getting so many bubbles. I can tell that the vinyl goes down with NO bubbles under it BEFORE I remove the app tape, but when I remove the app tape ... YUCK!!! Bubbles seem appear from nowhere. Anyone have any thoughts you'd like to share as to how to prevent this from happening? Thanks. Z

    AI file to EPS?

Thanks, but I downloaded these and followed the instructions, but was never given the opportunity to INSTALL anything. There seem to be no .EXE files in either download. Thanks anyway. Z

    AI file to EPS?

He and his wife have joined themselves into some "work from home" type venture selling high speed internet and phone accounts. The AI file was supplied by the company they signed on with. I can't open it to cut it in SBE. Just am trying to get it into an EPS that I can IMPORT so I can cut it. Thanks. Z

    AI file to EPS?

I don't have Adobe Illustrator. I only use SBE. Tried everything I could think of to open it, but wasn't able to. Thanks. Z

    AI file to EPS?

Can an AI file be converted to an EPS file? If so, how? I have a friend who I'm doing a free decal for and he was able to supply me with an AI file of the graphic to cut, but I can't open it or IMPORT it to cut it for him. It's too big to post here and I can't open it to resize it, but I can email it to anyone willing to help. Anyone know how to do this? I'd appreciate help or advice. Thanks. Z

  13. Yes, I have to agree. I am just leaning toward going ahead and getting a new one or hunting a good used one. I do have to wonder about the motherboard being bad if it still will cut the "registration mark" ... ? Larry
  14. MaderDesign, As far as the quality of the US Cutter product that I bought the first time around, I am happy with the quality and to tell you the truth will probably buy another (wider this time, but still a Refine). I bought that little machine to see if this would be something I'd be interested in. Found out it was/is. More than made back my "small investment" and learned alot along the way and "met" alot of good people in this forum (most of whom would not have dared post a slight toward US Cutter's quality on THEIR OWN forum as you did ). I was pretty sure that the manner in which I posted the original post for help/suggestions would invite sincere responses, not some jerk who just wanted to sound self-important AND take a slap at the company sponsoring the forum which I have NO doubt you have benefited from, Sir, or Ma'am, as the case may be. PS: For what it's worth, congratulations on the VectorFest 2009 contest. 4 u. Larry
  15. I failed to mention that I tried that several times. Thanks.
