geedub 0 Posted July 8, 2008 I am new to the refine cutter - i have both a pen and a cutter. What is the ideal way to set the blade to get the best cut. So far i am just adjusting up and down a bit until it looks right...........but my guess is there is a better way?
pungohboy 0 Posted July 8, 2008 http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,3750.msg21405.html#msg21405 this should help. My blade is hardly sticking out. after getting it set right my cutter is cutting nice. I use to have it sticking way too far out. Congrats on your new cutter! Guest crshirts Posted July 8, 2008 Being an old machinist I use calipiers to set mine, In my manual it said .030 I think. Yes that is what mine is set at. Anyway mine works at that setting. At least if it is set that way you are right all the time or wrong. lol Any questions I will take a picture of how to do this. Hope this helps. Carl

Knobhill 0 Posted July 12, 2008 It's simple, the vinyl is how thick? Set your blade out a little more than the vinyl thickness.

I was having this same problem before I read this thread. It would randomly start binding up because the blade was out too far. All cleared up now and working great.
