blade adjustment

Recommended Posts

i got my cutter today.. bigger than it looked..

trying to figure out how to adjust blade depth according ot manual...  but the picture shows does not represent the blade holder i got..

i got the first one.........standard....  but the manual shows the second type.  i cant lock down the blade to a certain depth becuase its like a magnet inside.. it just falls in and stays.. the metal rod in the back just slides in and out, and does not stay.  only all the way out.... do i adjust by unscrewing the cap (blade tip end) to show a smaller amout of blade?

i tried screwing the cap all the way down but it does not do anything to lock the blade...

input appreciated

Top picture.

The bottom part is secured by an internal O-ring.

if you turn it you expose more or less blade.

Bottom picture

The silver colored screw is locked by the gold color ring.

Adjust the blade depth with the silver colored screw and lock with the color one.

I hope this helps.

thanks paco,

thats what i figured, but was not quite sure becuase the pic shows the second style, and i got the one on top,

does it matter which way the blade is pointing?  does it adjust itself as its cutting?  is that why it is not completely locked and can rotate withing the holder??

The knife SHOULD rotate freely when you turn it with the top of a finger.

These are drag knifes and follow and turn the way the head and rollers move.

If the blade get locked the cuts wont be good anymore.

I hope this helps.

Hey Lobo,

I ordered a serial to usb adapter off ebay.

Mine was $2.99 with free shipping.

I installed it a few days ago and my cutter works on my Toshiba laptop.

The serial adapter cord will come with a driver and i have noticed the design flows to the cutter quicker and my decals come out better now.
