Hi my name is Josh and I'm from Alabama. I work in the Aerospace field but have had a side business for over a year now that makes paracord produces. I have decided to expand into vinyl work as well. I will be ordering my first vinyl cutter sometime next week. I have decided on the LaserPoint ii 31.5" I'm really excited to get started and hopefully create some cool produces! For now I will be using Adobe Illustrator as my design software. I will be mainly desgining window/car decals. The kit I plan on ordering comes with several banners so who knows I may try my hand at that, but baby steps first. After I get settled in and a good workflow going I would like to purchase a heat press and design a few t-shirts but again that is probably several months down the road. I'm sure in the next few weeks I will ask some dumb questions so bear with me. I will try to read as much as possible before flooding the forum with repeat questions. Any tips or tricks are appreciated!

Thanks for the info. I believe I'm going to give the LaserPoint a shot. That sticker would be probably the most detailed piece I would need and it is not what I will start off cutting. Would love to have a Graphtec but at this moment the Laserpoint 31.5" is about as high as my budget can go. Should have my Laserpoint ordered sometime next week. I will try to do a write up from out the box all the way through the first few cuts from a newbies point of view.

Would the Laserpoint ii be able to cut with enough detail to cut out the sticker I posted in my Sticker album?

Wish I could afford Flexi right now. But I already have a copy of Illustrator and it will import into sure cuts alot, so it will have to do for now. Thanks for the info!

Hi I'm new and looking to start up making mainly decals for cars. I am looking at getting either a SC 34" or a Laserpoint ii 31.5". I will be using Adobe illustrator as my design software. My main question is about the "max cutting length". From what I understand this is pretty much the amount of memory the cutter has, let me know if I'm wrong. The SC is listed a 144" and the Laserpoint has 180". Now most decals I plan on making are only going to be around 5"x10" stickers. But some of them will be pretty detailed, like dripping text and gun outlines. So the question is with all the detail would I risk running longer cuts then what the SC can handle. Examples of some things and what their cutting length is would help. Thanks
