Cuts across graphic randomly
smoovlatino replied to smoovlatino's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I'm using SignCut X2 and I've tried serial and parallel with no success. The only connection that seems to work is the USB. I was cutting fine before... now it is cutting diagonal lines across the vinyl randomly. Sometimes it does it... sometimes it doesn't. -
MH721 Cuts are not Closed
smoovlatino replied to tsilachai's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I'm having the same problem.... letters are not closing all the way leaving small sections still attached while weeding. I've set the offset from 0.000 to 0.032 without any resolution. I've checked the image in zoom mode and everything is closed prior to sending it to the cutter. Files are saved as *.AI files and opened in Signcut SIGNCUT X2 Adobe Illustrator CS2 -
Cuts across graphic randomly

I've set the baud rate to 4800, however, last night I had the same problem. It will cut the graphic just fine and then, at the last letter, keep the blade pressured down and return back to the starting point (cutting a straight clean line across the finished product). I'm getting VERY frustrated as this is ruining a lot of vinyl. Could it be the software? -
What is the BEST way to cut two layer graphics? I'm using SignCut X2 with the 721 cutter. Thanks!!

Open Letters - Cutter not closing graphics
smoovlatino posted a topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I'm having a problem with some of the letters in graphics not being cut completely closed. It leaves a small opening that keeps the graphic attached to the vinyl while trying to weed. I adjusted the blade offset in SignCut from 0.010 to 0.025 with little result. I then adjusted it to 0.000 and it still cuts letters open. It only occurs with a handful of letters, but becomes quite annoying when trying to weed and letters are getting mutilated/stuck to the adhesive (thereby ruining the entire project). Help!! -
Cutter doubles each cut - cuts over and over

I found what is was! The light grey outline was being cut as well as the solid black outline. I just deactivated the grey outline, and now it only cuts once. -
Cutter doubles each cut - cuts over and over

Hello, I have the 721 cutter and am using SignCut. On certain graphics, the cutter will cut shapes two or three times in the same pass occassionally pulling the graphic off the paper. What can I do to prevent this? To better describe the problem, let me provide an example: tonight, while cutting a family crest graphic, I observed the cutter cut a circular pattern once, then, instead of continuing on with the rest of the graphic, it "retraced" the same circular pattern again. When it "retraced" the pattern, it pulled the vinyl from the backing and stuck to the blade housing. -

I'm not sure how to cut multiple graphics (to utilize all vinyl space) in one process. I'm always afraid it will go off the vinyl or be ruined completely.... do you know how to do this in SignCut? I am trying to cut three instances of a Coca-Cola Graphic (12" long x 3" high) on 24" vinyl. The graphics are being cut vertically to only occupy 3" lengthwise on the loaded vinyl.... -

Happened again just now.... I'm getting pretty frustrated as it is wasting vinyl. Here is what I am doing if it helps diagnose the problem.... I am cutting a Coca-Cola graphic spelled out vertically on the far right side of the vinyl... This graphic cuts perfect EVERY TIME... I then readjust the cutter head to the middle of the vinyl and set the origin. When it cuts the second graphic it finishes with a cut all the way across (diagonally) the finished product. I then adjust the cutter head to the far left and cut a third graphic... Same thing there.... cuts across the graphic as it returns to the start of the graphic. Completely destroys an otherwise perfectly cut graphic Help!!! -
Knife drags

Be sure your machine is OFFLINE when you drop the blade holder in and secure it. If the machine is ONLINE when you secure the blade holder, you have set the position of the blade while cutting - IE: that is the amount of force it will use (plus or minus the downward force adjustment) as this is the position the machine uses as it engages the vinyl. Let me know if this fixes the problem!! -

I've been having a very annoying, and now, angering problem. It seems the cutter, while returning to the starting position cuts across the graphic leaving behind a crisp and clean line of death on an otherwise perfect project. At first, I thought it was the pressure setting, however, it is not. I cut a graphic using the same .EPS file three times. The first cut came out perfect (no happy slash across the graphic). Both the second and third had the cut ALL the way across the graphic (diagonal). What could this be?? -
