  1. Thanks everyone, I initially tried this on a reinstall of Windows 7, so I didn't even think to clear the registry after the first failed SB attempt. Unfortunately, it still didn't work. I have no idea why at this point, but I did get it to run in Virtualbox, so at least I'm not completely stranded(and I can use linux to cut too, but it's features are poor and difficult compared to SignBlazer). I'm still looking around for some info, hopefully it's something small(or something I overlooked) and thank you Skeeter for the 7*** tip!
  2. Okay, I've tried signblazer 6.02 and 6.05, reinstalled both multiple times, tried compatibility mode for xp and vista(both servie pack options), still have these problems: Doing anything in the cutter window causes the "unrecoverable error" dialog box to open, and crashes the program. I can create files in signblazer, but when I try to cut them, or go into setup, it crashes. I tried to search for "unrecoverable error windows 7" here, but "7" can't be searched(too short of a term) and "unrecoverable error" posts all have the same suggestion of "reinstall signblazer" which I've done. Plus, I haven't found anyone who gets the error when I do. Please help! Thank you (windows 7 home premium)

    Here's a cross

Ah, so if I want an eps with a preview, I just attach an eps and a jpg? You're welcome, this site has done plenty for me, I figured it's time to start giving back.

    Here's a cross

I don't need help with this one, I just wanted to post it up for anyone who wants to use it, cause I think it's a really good looking cross. p.s. How do you attach a file so it has a preview? Curly cross.eps Curly cross.eps

    First try - vehicle graphic

Could you post the link to the tutorial? It'll help to know what the steps are, that you're following. Also, Depending on what you are having trouble with, you can try to rotate the picture(through a photo editing program) until the vehicle is level, or post it here and ask someone to rotate it for you, if that's what you really need.
  8. I have just one serial port, one parallel port, and entirely too many usb ports. I've set everything in the device manager and signblazer to match every time I changed cables, and I would still get the error. I know enough about a pc to set up small networks, I've fixed other people's peripherals over the phone, I've even torn apart and rebuilt a few... But this problem has made me it's love-slave. EVERYTHING I can think of, I've checked, and everything looks good. Except that the stupid thing won't send to the cutter. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
  9. It's on Com 1,tried the serial port, tried plugging the usb into several of my known as good ports. I've changed the flow control when I swapped out too, but that didn't work either. I did get it to work, but by reinstalling signblazer. It worked for one session, then the same thing happened. I really don't want to have to delete and reinstall the software everytime I need to use it..
  10. I've tried everything suggested in previous posts, so please don't ask me if the baud rate and ports are matched up.. I have a refine mh721, windows xp, and I'm using the com port. I tried to cut and got the "cannot open the output device error initializing cutter" dialog. it just happened today, and it has been cutting for a few months. I've switched com ports( tried all of them), everything is matched up in signblazer, the cutter, and the device manager(including the comm settings like flow control). I've tried uninstalling the driver, I've tried using the usb, I've tried using the parallel port. NOTHING works. I'm getting real tired of the hassles of this thing, to be honest. I need help before I smash it into bits...

Need help making image into an outline

Need help making image into an outline

Thanks, but I'm looking for the house to be an outline, and the letters to be inside of it. In the general spirit of this one (hauntedHouselogojunk.png), but not so crappy...

Need help making image into an outline

Okay, here's one that should be better.(HauntedHouseLogo.png) And here's the idea of what I'm trying to do(HauntedHouseLogoJunk.png), only much , MUCH more professional. I am trying to make a border/outline of the house, and the lettering on the inside, so that when I cut it and weed, all you can see is the outline and letters. Everytime I try to make an outline of an image, it ends up with a bazillion extra lines that get cut. I'll try the option with signblazer, but I haven't used that for anything but cutting so far, so it should be interesting to see how well I do.. Thanks to everyone so far!
  14. Hi, I need to make this image just the outline of the house and the letters inside the image. I have an eps file of it, but it's too big to attach here, so here is a png so you can see what I'm talking about. I have cs3 if anyone wants to talk me through it, or you can give it a try yourselves. Thanks!

    does this look weird

That's normal for a lot of my artwork, but it comes out looking smooth. My guess is that it's just the programs way of showing you the vector.
