Weicome to the best forum I've found. I too am not new to cutting.

New to the forum but not the business. Been lettering trucks, signs, cars, buildings,,, and the first True American made two person olympic bobsleds. I've read many posts so far learning many things and posted in some. I hope I can return as much help I recieve from this forum. I'm in the beginning stage of starting my own sign business. Most of you can say been there, done that. I hope to be able to say it as well in the future. Cheers

I took the name from a geographical area I grew up in.

Which Blade Is Better For Small Graphics the 45 Degree or 60 Degree Blade?
Knobhill replied to Cutter's topic in General discussion
60 deg blades for smaller cuts work best. The 45 is nicknamed the axe and the 30 the hammer & chizel. -
How does it compare to Flexi-sign or Omega? I'm using Elements now and like it even with the limitations. I'm still in the process of setting up my shop and can't afford the price tag on the big guns. I've mostly used Omega as it's called now and Flexi a few times over the years. How much of a learning curve from say Omege to SB Pro?

Great, I'll have to invest in the upgrade as soon as my second workstation is online.

I have all 3 mega CD's among others. Thanx for the link, now I have a shopping list. LOL

How to line up vinyl perfectly when feeding into cutter?
Knobhill replied to ShadowHawk's topic in Competitor Cutter Help
If using the method I described does not work, your feed is not working properly and is in need of service. -
Thanx for the quick replies. I gather I should hang on to it for now. Do any parts interchange?

How to line up vinyl perfectly when feeding into cutter?
Knobhill replied to ShadowHawk's topic in Competitor Cutter Help
I'll add to mark the edge of the vinyl on the cutter when you get it right both front and back of the feed. Creating your own alignment marks. It works provided your cutter feed drive is working properly. Use the manual feed function to run out the vinyl and set the alignment. Then mark it. Use a piece of scrap. My 2cts -

Thanx for the link, but I posted Rat Fink like. You obviously misread the contents of the post. The graphic was not produced by Rat Fink. My description was a referrence to the style of graphic, not the owner. I'm looking for the graphic and the owner(artist).

I'm looking for a graphic seen on a sweat shirt a few months ago of a ratfink like sled with a top fuel motor and flames out the zoomie pipes. It was the best snowmobile graphic seen to date. Branded injection is good but I'd rather ,,,,,you know the rest. LOL Any info where to find the owner would be apreciated. Thanx.

Anyone having issues with a PCUT 630 using Flexi pro-8? I've not yet put the new adition into production yet so I'm looking for opinions with this combo. I hate to pay for a 2nd license and have problems. Works great with the bundled software. This forum has yielded several answers to questions I never needed to ask.Thanx all.

Sorry to here that protek. What seems to be the major issue?... I did a quick demo with my machine and had to pack it up for the move to my new shop. I won't be back up and running for a couple weeks at least while waiting for the space to clear. So I'm using a friends shop for now to fabricate. It gives me time to build up a little on inventory. Cheers

Video two color application great for newbies
Knobhill replied to a topic in Instructional Contributions
Good video but I have many issues with it. You should always anchore the item applied to, in this case a license plate. Weeding and applying application tape is much easier if the vinyl is also anchored. I prefer acuracy over speed. Free hand application is not advised dry. Static electicity can cause problems. I never used anythig but water with a little soap for application fluid and never used it for cleaning unless applying to a virgin surface. -
Never throw away a usable piece of vinyl! Never had a big pile of scraps. Used most for little jobs.

While working for a sign shop in days past, there was a back log of months for orders. The basic colors were kept fully stocked and specialty colors were ordered as needed. Rush jobs and especially with special colors were charged a premiun. Overnight shipping helps a lot here.

P-cut 630... blue screen of death...help
Knobhill replied to latitude42's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Good 'ol windows. Always can count on a good scare from time to time! Been there too many times. Glad to see restore actually works at times and it did for you this time. I suggest to all a simple thing I do to help with the stress when this happens. Backup twice and backup often!!! Windows can be replaced, but what of your client files if lost? -
Are you asking about upgrading WinPC Sign software or your OS(windowsXP)? Or both?
