  1. What you say is false. We NEVER bid on our own items. Please don't casual make accusations when they are untrue.

    whats the deal w/ ebay?

We offer bundle options on our cutters through the website that allow you to receive a superior value. These bundle prices are not available to customers who purchase items through eBay. For instance, I highly recommend that customers add the Greenstar 12 color intermediate vinyl pack along with a software upgrade such as Corel or FlexiStarter. The discounts that you receive on these two items when bundled create a better value than you could find through eBay plus you receive the additional advantage of the extended warranty.

    Shinrite WARNING!

My understanding is that Shinerite is made by General Formulations. Our GreenStar product is not made by General Formulations, so it may or may not exhibit this behavior.

Received my 3rd cutter and still problems

I am banning this member. He has a valid complaint, which we are happy to discuss on the forums, but registering our copyrighted business name (and using copyrighted images from our site) and using it to slander us is against the law. The lower-end Chinese machines are more problematic than their Japanese counterparts. We generally do a great job of supporting them. We don't hide the fact that if there is a warranty issue, we ask you to swap out parts or pay for shipping for us to do service. If you would prefer to pay $100s more for similar machines from companies that have less capable support, you are free to do so. Also, if you are doing this as a business and can afford the extra expense, I highly recommend that you buy a Graphtec or Roland machine. They will offer exceptional performance and reliability. Our goal is always to offer the very best value at any given price point, and I think that we absolutely succeed at this goal. Given our value oriented goals, we are simply unable to achieve a level of service that is consistent with businesses that charge full retail prices (though we are often better than these full-price shops). xstreme, I am sorry for the problems that you have experienced with this machine, but you have now crossed the line and you are no longer welcome in our forums.
  5. We are unable to disclose the manufacturer as per our OEM agreement. I can say, the vinyl is top quality from a veteran / reliable manufacturer with film that comes from the same manufacture that makes Oracal's intermediate films. We have positioned it to be the best value in the industry and we believe that you could not go wrong choosing this or Oracal's intermediate and cast vinyls. We just lowered the price a bit to make the vinyl even more competitive!

    How quick is shipments?

We understand the difficulty that long lead times create. We are working hard to make improvements in this area. Orders to the east coast generally take 4-5 business days to arrive (one full week) when shipped from our Washington State warehouse. We have recently implemented policies that ensure that almost all orders are now shipped the day they are placed if your order gets in by 1:00 Pacific Time. Frequently, we are able to ship out same day for orders placed up to about 2:30 Pacific Time. This is an improvement over our previous performance. It is our intent to make substantial improvements in the near future that will drastically improve transit times.

    Time to move on

You should be eligible for any promos that Graphtec offers. I don't know all the differences, but the fc7000 has gauranteed tracking of 50 ft. more speed and force, a longer warranty and a nice recieving basket. I'm sure there are other differences, but right now it looks like if you buy a ce5000 or fc8000 between now and April 30th you recieve additional 1yr warranty and possible $100.00 or $200.00 gift certificate to use from GraphTec's online accessory store. http://www.graphtecamerica.com/2009-EndUser-Promo.html Not 100% sure on this though.
  8. Here is the Laserpoint manual that we will be replacing soon: http://support.uscutter.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=viewdownload&downloaditemid=41
  9. Is the carriage touching the red button on the side of the machine? If it is, turn it off, move the carriage away from the button and turn it on again....
  10. 1. We don't shill bid. PERIOD! Please do not make accusations unless you know the facts. We sell a lot of machines on eBay. Some people buy our machines for resale. Some people think that they can get a low price and bid a low price on every auction. eBay has no tolerance for shill bidding, and I am frankly insulted every time someone makes the insinuation. 2. We don't rely on the forum for most of our support. The best way to get support is by leaving a support request at http://support.uscutter.com. Our technicians are on the phone most of each day, but they often times have time to deal with support requests during downtime while troubleshooting on the phone. We instruct our technicians to use the forum minimally and focus their attention on the support site. That is the reason that you see more answers from our members than technicians on these forums. 3. The Laserpoint manual has been poor. We have an outstanding new version that we will be releasing to the public shortly. I am sorry that we were not able to preform better sooner in this respect.
  11. The forum is being transferred to a new server in order to accommodate growth. There will be some downtime tonight during the upgrade. *** We should be back up now. The old server is still online, so that server will be kept in maintenance mode and it may take some time before all DNS caches are updated and pointing to this server. ***

    9.99 shipping on blades?

The low price on blades is meant to encourage people to buy other items. The intent of our store is so sell lots of supplies. If you are a loyal customer, you are probably buying vinyl and other supplies from USCutter.com on a regular basis. You should simply add blades to the orders for your other supplies rather than buying them separately.

Are people still having problems uploading? This should be fixed now - with the new server, we shouldn't have any more problems....

    I Love Bad Vinyl

My guess is that it has been sitting on the shelf for some time. Vinyl has a finite shelf life, and some distributors will let it sit for years. I am guessing that you did not buy it from us because we cycle through our product very fast (all our vinyl is fresh), but if you did, we will take care of it.

A couple of suggestions for USCutter

That is very good advise. We are now bundling RTape with the starter kit. I am sorry about the packing problem you experienced. We use paper because we feel that it is environmentally better and easier to work with than packing foam. Unfortunately, the paper can compress in the course of the shipment. After you comment, I did an inspection of our outgoing shipments and determined that we could stuff more paper in there to offer better protection, so we will implement this advise going forward.

    oracle 641

We probably won't carry 641 as the specs are just too similar to 651 (which we prefer) without a significant cost advantage.
  17. Our webhost had a hardware failure and the server went down for a brief period today. Sorry for the outage.

    Temporary stick-up vinyl??

Oracal 631 is your best option....
  20. Our systems requires us to use "shipping rules" unless we want to build shipping tables for each product that is sold on eBay. Unfortunately, we are tied to the limitations of our software, and we are only able to offer the prices that we do on eBay because most of the process is extremely automated. We have to build shipping rules based off of the most usual circumstances, and in the case of vinyl cutters we have to use Fedex ground. Therefore our calculator must use the "Fedex ground" shipping table. eBay is not our preferred marketplace, and it is certainly not the recommended marketplace for transactions to Alaska. For us to refund shipments on a one-off basis would add to the complexity of our business and increase our costs. Our goal is to always offer the best prices, and if we are dealing with a lot of one-off issues, we cannot accomplish this goal. There is some expectation that the buyer will seek out the best price option, and in the case of transactions outside of the US 48 states, it is the buyer's responsibility to determine whether the the gross costs is reasonable. Please note that the shipping calculator is available for you to check the shipping rate before you bid on or buy an item (in this case, buying through USCutter.com would have been the lowest cost option. I am sorry that you were dissatisfied with the transaction, and I appreciate the feedback. I will take it into account the next time we modify shipping policies.

    " THE RANT!"

For those having problems, please try installing v. 6.0.24 over your existing installation (make sure that SignBlazer is closed when you install). http://www.signblazer.net/signblazer/updates/uscutter/setup_250208.exe

    " THE RANT!"

I am really concerned about this issue, and I wish that I could just send out free software. Unfortunately, we have to pay for every copy of software we sell, and our machines are sold at very little margin, and we already paid for every copy of SignBlazer that went out with a serial code (current sales indicate that the software is Trial mode....). If anybody on this thread wants FlexiStarter, we can sell the version that only works with PCUT / Laserpoints for $40, and the dongle version of FlexiStarter is available for $90. This is only available to those customers that have purchased machines from us. If you would like to take advantage, please PM kenimes and he will tell you how to get in on this deal.

    " THE RANT!"

I was not aware that people were having consistent and reproducible problems with SignBlazer. I would like to use this thread see if we can identify why the problems are occurring. Can each person please reply and state: 1. What OS are you using? 2. Are you having problems with SignBlazer? If so, what problems? 3. What version of SignBlazer are you using (look under Help -> About) 4. Are you in trial mode, or is your software registered? 5. When did you first install the software? When have you last updated? 6. If you are having problems, have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the newest version from http://download.uscutter.com?

    " THE RANT!"

I was not aware that many people were having problems with SignBlazer. I know I have been pretty silent on this issue, and I am sorry for that. Here is the situation: ColorChromeFirst was declared insolvent shortly after Jerry's death. The company itself was probably just about breaking even - I think that Jerry was contributing the difference to keep it going. With our help, ColorChrome was actually doing better recently than in past years and it had a positive outlook overall. In being declared insolvent, an administrator took over the company and was in charge of selling off or liquidating the assets. The primary asset of value was the software code and customers, so this portion of the company was made available for sale to the highest bidder. Bruce was indeed a minority shareholder in the company, but he was not interested in running the company, so in being liquidated, he lost his share. Despite this fact, Bruce tried to assist us with ongoing support. The administrator found another company in Australia who was interested in purchasing the company and they intended to complete the sale. Somewhere along the way, one of the old employees of ColorChrome decided that he had rights to the code. He sued the administrator and Bruce in an attempt to prevent the sale from going through. (This is my vague understanding). Since then, the administrator has told me that they thought that the sale would still go through. They have told me on multiple occasions that they expected the sale would be completed within a short period of time. I emailed them a week ago and they said that the sale should be completed in about two weeks. We'll see.... The ongoing delays are helping nobody, and I expect that disagreements will be resolved sometime in the future. Unfortunately, I have no control over this situation.
