My laptop hard drive got corrupted and crashed and I had to install a new hard drive. I have since reinstalled the signblazer software. I downloaded what i thought was the driver zip folder at this link. http://www.ftdichip.com//Drivers/CDM/CDM 2.06.00 WHQL Certified.zip since i am using serial to USB cable. When i try to configure the USB and browse to that folder, windows continues to give me the "could not install, no hardware found" message. Help! I need the drivers for serial to USB. I had been using the PCUT without issues for the most part for over a year before my laptop hard drive got corrupted and ruined. Now im stuck with jobs backing up. thanks

FIXed it, the red button was depressed.

AHA, it WAS pressed on the red button and i pushed the knife over a tad and I AM UP AND RUNNING AGAIN!. hopefully no more lock ups. thanks

Oh, i was just going to delete this post cuz i mistakenly posted in the wrong cutter forum...but i think that might be the problem. how do i get the knife to move if i cant see the screen?

i was cutting some decals and of course the plotter locked up and stop cutting. the problem is when i cut it off and cut it back on, THE LCD SCREEN IS BLANK. I tried to do this 4 times. I unplugged it and plugged it back in the same problem. when i cut it on, i hear the fan going as if it wants to work, just nothing on the screen.

i DO NOT want to hijack the thread. I am having the exact same issues on all of my files. i have tried working with 6 different files. it does the same thing on the test cut file also. if this is an issue with the cutter itself, can i get a refund or exchange to a reliable cutter?

WHAT ABOUT THE QUESTION OF " WILL SERIAL TO USB WORK"?

Okay, so I picked up a us 19hs model from frys and it seems the thing wont fit in to the side of the cutter. its like the 2 locking screws on the sides are stopping the cable from connecting! should i be removing the screws or something? i didnt want to change anything in case i needed to take this cable back? OKAY, I REALIZE I HAVE A CREATION MODEL...NOT REFINE. DOES THIS CHANGE THE NEED FOR THE KEYSPAN?

I am having major issues with the cutter not completing cuts. It stops mid way causing lots of vinyl waste!! Im completely fed up. I have tried 2 different USB cords. The one that came with the refine didnt work at all. I get the same problem with both USB cables. My laptop only has a 15 pin serial port. NOT a 9 pin like the refine cutter. Will it work with a 9 pin to 15 pin converter? IF not how can I get the cutter to be more reliable? I have orders to fulfil. The Baud rate of the machine matches the signblazer software. The machine is level sitting on carpet. I have tried it on a dedicated receptable and the same problem occurs...it just stops cutting. How can I fix this Really close to feeling like I wasted my money!

I am a NOOb and just got the plotter a coupla days ago. My issues are these 1. When I start a new file and use text letters, i mirror the image for tshirt printing and send to cut. when i view the image to be cut the letters are all jumbled up and do not look correct at all! The spacing changes and sometimes it just doesnt work. These are standard fonts in the signblazer software. Am I doing something wrong? what is causing this and how do I fix it?
