New PCUT import question (I'm new)

I said I would give My US Cutter CTN 630 a workout...she's cutting on 80 speed, pressure 85, and doing better than the $1200 Roland my friend has. I ran 25 yards non stop last night and am about to finish off my first 50yd. x 24" roll of vinyl. I'm cutting about 48 shapes per foot - Oh Yeah! BTW - Before I got the PCUT, I only watched a vinyl cutter run once and had never used a graphics program before. Thank You forum members and thanks US Cutter for saving me a lot of money!!! :woohoo:

New PCUT import question (I'm new)

GOT IT! The weed setting was on making the rectangle cut around design... :jumping:
  3. Worked great - now how do I get just the shape to cut? Mine also cuts an unwanted rectangle around the design...
  4. I've used inkscape to take a .jpg and convert to .eps (nice video reply in general section to my first question) I'm having trouble - I can't seem to bring into my workspace so i can cut... I need to do is convert a dozen cigar sized custom graphics and cookie cutter a bunch of em...thanks!!!

New PCUT import question (I'm new)

Thanks sciondrgn. I sucessfully saved the .eps to desktop. Did import steps in SB and I see the file, but it's a solid black square in the thumbnail on left side along with other graphics on desktop. I dbl click and can't see where it shows up on workspace?? :help:
  6. Just got the PCUT CTN630 and in less than an hour was happy with the test cut. (have bought many 24" x 50 yd. rolls pre-cut from a friend and know what the end cut quality looks like) I'm new at this and looked thru the online guide. Can someone tell me basic steps to import a .jpeg, then vectorize, or whatever I need to "cookie cutter" a bunch of cigar shaped/sized stickers...I'm using 24" vinyl and can plan the workspace fine- even did so with the first of my 12 custom shapes, somehow I'm ignorant to vector conversion, never did any graphics work but can usually figure how to use different software. Thanks in advance!
  7. I received my new PCUT and love so far. I've never used a cutter before, nor any sign or graphics software before - In less than an hour I had my first test cut and 15 minutes later I got the blade set and she works GREAT! :woohoo: (I've had 6 50 yd x 24" rolls cut for me and I know what to look for in the end) Can someone tell me how to bring in a .jpeg and get a cut from it? (yes I've read the entire learning module online and can't seem to get how to vectorize the graphic) :bang: All I need is to get 12 custom shapes lined up vertically in 3 sizes then 'cookie cutter' 50 yd rolls, yes I'm gonna give this thing a workout (I'm told they can be workhorses)

Help, need to buy a cutter

I just won the bid on a PCUT, can't wait to get started. Question: cutting the cigar shapes described above, how much will run before I need to go back to the machine and re-set? I hope I didn't goof the purchase - sorry didn't see your post bk2design. (yes I know after 10 feet or so you would have to pay attention to the finished vinyl end) I'm sure more questions will come up in a week or so when I get to play. First job will be decals for my boat! I'll post pics when done too...

Help, need to buy a cutter

:notsure: I would like to run 50 yd rolls, as much at one time as possible. Which one? refine or creation? How long should I estimate to cut 50yds of vinyl? (example: use 10" cigar shapes in rows, then repeat until 50 yd roll is finished) :thanks:

Help, need to buy a cutter

I have a special application to cut Oracal 651 into small cigar sized custom shapes. I plan to use 24" x 50 yd rolls. Can someone recommend a decent machine in the $300-$500 range? :thanks: Charlie
