  3. I am seeing alot of logos come in with this font lately and I don't have it. I tried searching fonts.com using the site tool and it didn't find it. Thanks for your help
  4. I agree with showandgo. It takes a little time and the best way to learn is by doing it. Kinda like driving a car. If you are stuck, you can find some good tips and tutorials online for using specific tools. Adobe even has it's own forum board with freebie plugins, tips, etc. I never use the instruction manuals that come with the software - it takes too long to do it that way in my opinion.

    Illustrator CS5 Problems

I use CS5 and haven't had any problems. You really need to follow the signcut install instructions exactly and install the plugin. We had to do this a few times to get it right. We are advised to save the AI files as EPS v8 or so, but I never do and it opens up fine. Make sure you convert text and lines to outlines and do pathfinder>merge. If you don't, you can end up with wonky cuts, it cutting the design twice, etc.

    Looking to buy another cutter

UScutter...is it possible to get the Graphtec CE5000 24" without the vinyl and Corel? We use AI CS5 on our computers already and we have/use oracal vinyl. It looks like it comes from Graphtec with the whole package tho.
  9. We have a big cutter and I'd like to buy one that is 24" or smaller. We do alot of jobs that are 12" or smaller and I don't like using the big machine for these. I would also like to get a cutter that can do a really good job on small lettering and fine details. I am looking at the CP2500 --- anyone currently using this one? We will only be using it to cut vinyl. What is the difference between the motor types (ie: divisional, stepper, etc). I was looking at the Graphtec CE5000 too but they look really slow.
  10. Oh goodness!!! Tom sent me the USB driver and I installed it again. Nothing seemed to change so far. Then.....I went into SignCut to "settings", then to "cutter" and changed the default output from PDF to USB and it started cutting!!!! I am soooooooo :D :D :D :D happy happy joy joy right now! lol Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it!!!
  11. That's exactly what I was thinking. It makes sense to me to help a client out here and there, especially if it keeps them coming back for more. I'm getting a helper in about a month and I plan on buying another machine or two - but I figured I'd start out with an inexpensive one to get the hang of it 1st. Everything I ordered so far was packaged really well and arrived fast. I love that kind of service. Thanks for the tip ...I'll try submitting a ticket and see how it goes. It was kinda hard to tell what stickers were suppose to stay on and which ones I was suppose to pull off. With our near 100% humidity down here off and on, even the purple USCutter logo stickers were half coiling up and falling off. I didn't want to yank off the white ones if they were meant to stay in place to protect the black rubber strips. Thanks
  12. I don't mind having to tinker with a few things to get everything going, but I don't think I should have to pay more $$. I have a typical setup. (From what I've read on the forums, Ash Computers seems to be very knowledgeable and I'm sure I'll solicit their help at some point in the future. ) I feel that USCutter should have an interest in assisting me at the moment. Maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, I'm sure I'll figure it out at some point.
  13. The no serial port thing? I haven't yet. I guess I'll either end up buying a USB/serial converter or install a new serial card.

  14. Newbie I have the same problem. How did you resolve? Thanks
