  1. Well I have enlarged it and there is only one line. I have been tracing the files in Illustrator CS2 then importing them into artcut as eps. files. every line on every graphic I have cut has cut twice, cutting first in one direction then in the other, hence causing a slight offset. The strange thing is that it will cut a line, go and do another part of the graphic then come back and cut the second line. There seems to be no logic to the way in which it does this! Could this be a software issue? There are no settings for multiple passes of the blade in Artcut. The software does seem to be a little strange but it is really user friendly, so I would prefer to keep using it if I can, now that I have got my head around it... Thanks for your suggestions :-
  2. HI everyone, just a quick question!! My refine MH721 goes over each line twice, unfortunately it cuts in the reverse direction on the second cut so the line is slightly offset. I am using artcut 6, which came with the machine, lpt1 on a PC (XP :why:) and have made sure that no copies are showing when I go to cut... Most confusing, I would appreciate some help as the machine is doing everything else perfectly!! Cheers, Geoff
  3. Hi there, not sure if this will help but I noticed that my cutter would do the line of death across the image and offset cut if my computer went into standby mode while the plotter was cutting. I prevented this by setting my computer power options so that the harddrive never goes into idle. Not sure if this is the solution to the problem but it seemed to stop the cross cutting and image offsetting (at least so far).... These machines are great but they sure can send you nuts! Geoff
  4. Wow! What a journey!! I tried the unplugging thing, even left it over night but no success so I woke up at three this morning and decided to go searching for the file which was the bane of my existance..... I ran a search on every file my computer modified yesterday and lo and behold discovered the printer spools file in c:/windows/system32/spools/printers. In there were a series of shockwave files which correlated with the times when I had sent files to the plotter.... I moved the files to a flash disc (just in case my computer shat itself) then rebooted. No random plotting, so far so good.... I started up artcut, opened the spools folder and sent a file to the plotter. A new shockwave file appeared in the spools folder and the plotter started cutting, the correct file this time!! This is probably really obvious stuff to lots of people but is really new to me so I am thrilled. a major nightmare is sorted. Thanks for everyones suggestions and I hope this bit of info can help someone else at some point. Now all I have to do is work out why the cutter goes over everything twice!! Have a great day, Geoff :jumping:
  5. Has anyone had trouble with the MH721 holding a file in it's memory so every time you switch on the computer and plotter it starts cutting. Pressing reset stops the cut but the plotter wont accept any more info. When I reboot the computer and plotter it begins cutting the same file. Now the bizarre thing is, I can send a new file to the plotter, but it wont cut it till after I have rebooted the computer and the plotter, after which it refuses to accept furthe info. THEN, if I reboot again, it will start cutting the original file again!! (this happens whether I let it cut all the way to the end or press reset!) I had a problem with this when I first got the machine but found that rebooting finally cleared the memory. That doesn't seem to be working this time. The machine is amazing though, just a little frustrating at the moment as the reset button doesn't seem to do what it is meant to. Hope someone can help. Geoff
