  1. I just received my new PCut 24" with SignBlazer... I read in some other post that other cutting programs have not only a setting for blade/knife offset, but for blade angle as well. I do not see this setting in SignBlazer. 1. Is there a setting for blade angle in SB? Also, I understand the PCut comes with a Roland blade holder... 2. What brand blades come with it? 3. Can you only fit Roland blades in the Roland blade holder? My packaging doesnt say what blades it came with, nor any settings... 4. Is the blade offset for my package in SignBlazer .30 or .25? Some of my designs need finer cutting with slower cut speeds I found out.... 5. Whats a good blade angle and offset... 6. And where can I buy this blade for my Roland holder? I am trying to minimize the weeding tabs, where the cuts dont seem to finish, on smaller more detailed designs.... Thanks! AMV
  2. Stokes are not considered "outlines". Its an effect in AI. You have to "Expand Appearence" to create outlines from stroke.... Also, it may be easier to just "Offset Path" with a positive or negative value, depending on your deisred look.... make sure the text is already outlines... "Create Outlines" > Select TLive Text > Create Outlines There are a few ways to do it...

    Where do you design?

I use Illustrator and import into SB.... Live Trace (vectorizing) in CS3 is great... although I generally just redraw my vectors as its pretty simple anyways... keeps the math clean to reduce cutting errors... once you learn how to use tangents... it goes quickly!
  4. You can copy the text and place the copy behind the orginal.... - Ctrl+C , Ctrl+B Then with the back copy still selected, stroke it to a desired width, and change the color Then Expand Appearence of both the front and back copy so you have two full shapes... Hold down the Alt key when you click the Merge Shape button on the Pathfinder window.... you need to make sure the back shape is a single shape, not a compound shape... click Ctrl+Y to see the outline view... Its pretty simple once you get it down Or you can Outline the original text to make it a shape > Create Outline.... then with the text selected, you can Offset Path with a negative value to get another path thats inside the original text... Scaling it wont work as its doing a proportional scale, scaling all values the same... you need to Offset the paths
  5. I am new to the vinyl cutting world and not sure how to install the rollers that hold the vinyl on the PCut stand. Can someone help me out by explaining how they go, or show me some pics? I got these two metal disc, and from the pics it looks like the rubber grommets go around the shaft part of the disc and keep the disc from moving on the main roller shaft. And the main roller shafts have different length ends on them. Which side goes on which side? Seems that if you install the metal discs with the shafts pointing at eachother, and you place the vinyl roll on the roller shafts, in between the discs, the rubber grommets would make the roll of vinyl not roll flat during feed... I am sure I am doing it wrong. HELP! thanks, AMV
