MH871-Mk2 Prints once then stalls

Recommended Posts

Hi,
I am having a problem where my MH871-mk2 will accept a single job and then stall out completely. It was a nightmare getting the unit to play nicely with my ports on Windows 11. There is some type of communication error occurring with the unit and my PC or VinylMaster. I am using one of my standard USB ports on my Lenovo Laptop. I have disabled the "save power" checkbox for the respective ports in the USB hub settings. I can't find the appropriate drivers for the MH871-mk2, so I am using the generic 10.0.26100.5074 Windows drivers. Everything works fine if I do either an area test or run a job in the Vinyl Spooler popup from VinylMaster, but only once. It will work and then I have to power cycle the unit for it to be recognized again. The reset button doesn't seem to make a difference. I've been using it like this since I bought it, but it's boiling up inside of me. Can someone please help me before I just replace it? I feel like a crazy person.

VM version?

What COM Port number are you using?

Have you tried cutting it with a different driver? (ie. Refine MH871, etc.)

Was it cutting fine before, and this is a new issue with the same PC & cutter?

Have you tried using a different USB cable?

When it stalls out, what's happening in the software? Is it freezing up? Are you getting any kind of error?
