darcshadow 1,641 Posted May 15 It's the one I used to run, and it worked fine. ok, if that's the case then, yeah, you just don't have the comm settings configured correctly. I'd forget USB, and go back to using the serial cable.
MZ SKEETER 4,726 Posted May 15 It's the one I used to run, and it worked fine. A Tripp-lite Keyspan Adapter or serial cable is always the best connection. Tripp-lite is the brand name, and has it's own driver. Needs to be used with a null modem cable. Find the best price. Works with vinyl cutters. https://assets.tripplite.com/product-pdfs/en/usa19hs.pdf. USB end goes into computer USB port. Other end screws into the null modem cable, the other end to vinyl cutter. Down load driver from their site. Match the com port numbers from your device manager, to software.
darcshadow 1,641 Posted May 15 Their computer has actual serial ports, so no need for an adapter, they can plug directly into the computer. Even has 2 ports, so could plug one cutter into port 1 and the other cutter into port 2. Just a matter of setting up the software at this point. MZ SKEETER 4,726 Posted May 16 Titan 3 which they have as 2nd cutter, is TRUE USB, Should be pretty easy on that one, with Vinyl Master. My Graphtec with TRUE USB, installs as a printer, at Printer and faxes on my computers..
Core Art Company 0 Posted May 16 What version of WindowsOS? This is for sure related to COM PORT designations and configuration. It's beyond my pay grade to proceed further. Drop back in here to let us know if you sort it out. Windows 7 I'm sure its some kind of config. Ive been using SB for years...it's really no big deal. slice&dice 2,467 Posted May 17 You seem to know your way around these PORTconfig:ADVANCED manipulations & changing designations (don't worry about manually assigning a ComPort that's already in use, as a reboot will get Windows to realign the whole hardware shebang and allow you to use Com3 if you want). I personally prefer the SignBlazer program, and although I work inside the VM workspace sometimes, it's SBE as a rule, and I've been doing so since first getting into this game with my first USCUTTER machine and an actual SB install disc! Whenever I get a chance to figure it out, I will. Just thought it would be cool to send to both cutters through VM. But Ive been using the SB for 18 years...not a big deal. I still have the disk as well...lol. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
