NedTG 0 Posted June 3 Hey All, I'm looking to purchase a new vinyl cutter here in Australia, market is unfortunatley a bit weird and getting uscutter machines isn't really an options. I have a Roland GX-24 on marketplace for $600AUD (Seems fair, few others in the country floating between 500-900, and this guy is same suburb) but no idea on condition or what may need to be in for maintenance. But I'm also thinking of maybe going ebay spec, I've found the KASA brand that has optical eye and was thinking they might be decent, A few reviews said they share the same systems as Refine. I'm currently looking at the KASA K725 which looks like the Mh721? Any input would be awesome, brand new these are around $590, I've owned a roland previously and debating going that again or just ebay. Your time and any input is well appreciated
darcshadow 1,640 Posted June 3 If the KASA is of similar quality as the MH721 you will be sorely disappointed after having used a Roland in the past. The MH is about as low end as you can get and still be functional. It works, and can teach you a lot about dialing in settings, but it can also be very frustrating.
slice&dice 2,459 Posted June 3 Go, look at the Roland. We aren't there, we cannot evaluate that unit.

Have a small format printer I also plan to print and cut some stickers, will mainly be though for bigger car decals 20cm long Don’t mind spending a bit of time tinkering Go, look at the Roland. It was rusted to all hell unfortunately, He lives beach side and the salt air had gotten in and looked a bit rough. the next cheapest one is $900 AUD vs 590 for the kasa
darcshadow 1,640 Posted June 5 I never tried to contour cut with a MH, in theory it should be able to do it. However the tracking on the MH was not the best so anything very large would likely not come out well. Also the MH has no alignment aids so getting things lined up would be entirely manual. 900 vs 590 is a hard pill to swallow but I think I would still recommend the Roland over a MH/Kasa.
