CE5000-120 blade down star up

Recommended Posts

I have a CE5000-120 plotter
when I turn it on the blade is positioned downwards, if I try to do a job it never gets up.
the mechanics are in place and smooth.
I have already reset and updated the firmware.
can it be an adjustment problem in the menu?

Go into your menu and make sure that the PEN is in the UP position.   The PEN has UP OR Down, make sure it is UP.  While there, see if you can do UP and Down to make sure the Pen block is working correctly.   Is this a new cutter to you?  Did this just start happening or what?

it's an old plotter.
I also checked PEN PRES ADJ MT but at the time of the adjustment it appears (encoder error).
the three drivers are fine, I also swapped them between them and the problem persists.

I don't have any other ideas, if needing parts,  may will be hard to find.   I have never heard of this happening on a Graphtec,, when the blade is staying down.  Either invest in taking it to a Graphtec repair shop or buy another cutter.

I have never heard of a graphtec having a z chip go bad - guessing either wrong driver or other issue since it is up when you start.  what plotting software are you using?

the problem already persists in the cutting test.
the blade is always down.
at start-up, I load the sheet and as soon as I lower the lever, the blade also lowers and moves the head to see the origin.
all this always with the blade down.
since it is very old we will change it.
