FlexiStarter not properly cutting / completing corners or designs on vinyl plotter

Recommended Posts

Hello,

for some reason my PixMax vinyl plotter is not properly cutting my designs, as it is finishing off corners and the end of a shape is not going back to the point it started at (to complete the font, text, etc). I have adjusted the needle pressure, speed, and even replaced it and I have tried to mess around with the software more however it has not done anything. I am more than sure it is something to do with the software.

I am using FlexiStarter Jinka Edition

thanks I’m advance

Too many people see wrong directions on setting the blade depth. Do not use a credit card or posit it notes,  That is just wrong. You set your blade depth to the vinyl that you are cutting. Then cut slow while you learn your machine. Blade offset start at 0.25 mm.

You must get the blade depth correct first, it is very important.

To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. You should barely see and feel the blade out of the blade holder. Regular sign vinyl is only 2-3 mil thick. You only cut with the very tip of the blade. Your blade should be so far into the blade holder that you would think, it would not cut, then it is probably correct.  You use the force of your machine to cut with.

Do your tests with the TEST feature on your cutter.  I don't know your pattern, but it should have sharp corners.      Also Flexistarter does have OVERCUT in it.  add just a little.
