slice&dice 2,450 Posted June 16, 2020 Hmmmmmm, throw the cdm USB emulation driver onto your computer. http://www.uscuttersupport.com/downloads/Drivers/cdm20828_setup_windows.exe The cutter is not really a device, you need to have the Device Manger assign it a Port. (maybe in the USB controllers)
haumana 1,220 Posted June 17, 2020 try to install the driver that Slice had posted, and reboot the machine. Check the Device Manager and see if it will pop up in COM & PORTS. If it's there, right click on it and verify the COM Port that was assigned to it. Then go into the Sign Blazer program and designate the appropriate COM Port. MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted April 4, 2023 On value cutters here, best to use a Tripp-lite Keyspan Adapter with a null modem cable that matches your connection on the cutter. Tripp-lite is the brand name and has it's own driver. Tripp-lite works with vinyl cutters. Others have a cheap Chinese chipset, just like the vinyl cutter has. After downloading driver and rebooting your computer, go into your computer device manager and find the com port number. It must be between 1-4, nothing higher, Then go into your cutting software set up and choose the same com port number. They must match. USB end plugs into your USB on computer, then connect the null modem cable to the Tripp-lite. then the other end to cutter. Find the best price. https://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-Keyspan-High-Speed-USA-19HS/dp/B0000VYJRY/ref=sr_1_1_mod_primary_new?crid=561Q533LR0Y9&keywords=tripp+lite+keyspan+high+speed+usb+to+serial+adapter&qid=1680643286&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sprefix=tripp+lite+keyspan%2Caps%2C486&sr=8-
darcshadow 1,626 Posted April 5, 2023 +1 Forget about trying to use the USB on the plotter. Go with the serial connection and it'll make your life much easier.
slice&dice 2,450 Posted April 5, 2023 I've had good luck with the ST Microelectronics virtual com port. (it is made for connecting flying drones, but worked great with one of my plotters that was experiencing connectivity issues) http://kiss.flyduino.net/download/stm32-virtual-com-drivers-64bit-pc
