Robro66 0 Posted December 17, 2019 I have a laserpoint 3 cutter that I bought a couple of years ago. It was purchased brand new from us cutter. I hardly used this machine, and after my PC was stolen at Christmas last year, I put the cutter in the closet, covered until last week. I got a refurbished laptop with windows 7. Reinstalled vinylmaster pro edition. The program loaded fine and the cutter cranks up and seems to be problem free, however, I cannot get it to accept anything from my pc. It says usb ports not detectected.detected. I've checked, my ports are working. I've changed cables and now am leaning towards a null modem serial cable . Any ideas? MZ SKEETER 4,708 Posted December 17, 2019 Laser pointer 3 did not come out til this year. Maybe your talking about a laser pointer 11. Your cutter is a Liyu brand If your cutter does not have ARMS, then it is not a Laser pointer 3. haumana 1,220 Posted December 17, 2019 Could you be a little more specific about not accepting anything - Do you send a file and the display on the plotter gives you an error? Do you send a file and the display on the cutter does nothing? Does the laptop give you an error? Does the laptop appear to send the file and then nothing happens? First and foremost, you should check to see what comm port windows has assigned to the cutter - you can find that information in Device Manager.
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted December 17, 2019 Did you install the usb drivers for your plotter?
Wilson 43 Posted December 17, 2019 Did you get the VinylMaster activation released from your stolen PC and moved to your new PC? Doesn't VM install and allow you to use the program in some kind of trial mode but won't cut until it's activated?
