Graphtec Ce5000-60 just stops during cut jobs

I've been using this graphtec ce5000-60 machine for 2 years now with no problems.

It worked fine until recently.  The machine just stops at random times while cutting and doesn't function correctly until I turn it off and back on.

When the machine stops, none of the front panel buttons work and releasing the lever does nothing.

It only works again after I turn it off and back on.  It also doesn't stop all the time.  Just stops randomly at random times during a cut job.

Is it a bad circuit board or control board?

This happened to me last month,  on my Graphtec.. I had changed USB cables to a cheap 15ft. 2 weeks prior.    It kept stopping,   I bought a new 12ft cable.  Never stopped again.. Works great.

 

Try a new cable, they do wear out and get broken.
