GeorgiaGirl7 0 Posted January 8, 2014 Hi, I am wondering what I have to do to use a cutting mat. I have some smaller pieces of vinyl I'd like to use on a cutting mat. I am assuming I'd have to adjust the pinch rollers and my blade but want to make sure that it is ok on the pinch rollers. I have seen people have issues with the pinch rollers and don't want to add added stress to them. Thank you GeorgiaGirl
Jay2703 704 Posted January 8, 2014 You shouldn't need to adjust your blade. It will only cut as deep as you have tip showing. I'm not sure about the pinch rollers. It will depend on how thick the cutting mat is.
skarekrow 1,842 Posted January 8, 2014 If you are just wanting to use up some smaller scraps of vinyl, you could tape the scraps to a discarded piece of (liner) backing. It wont be as thick as the average cutting mat and less stress on your rollers.
dasfreak 1 Posted February 27, 2014 I'm also interested in cutting small pieces as well. Also I want to cut paper/card stock. Is there a sticky mat like the smaller machines use to cut paper?
arty-rc 719 Posted February 27, 2014 Pick up a Cricut cutting mat. Wally World has them on their website.
